Takapuna Beach

Great for taking a stroll, relaxing, and family-friendly. The beach has a great playground, is even wheelchair accessible, and features lots of trees for shade. The toilets and changing rooms are clean, and there are lots of restaurants nearby.

Dropped into Takapuna Beach to take in the ocean breeze & Latin Festival. It's a great location for something like this and free for everyone.nnThe surf club is located next door, and if the kids need more entertainment the playground is massive and at the beach.nnThose looking to enjoy the view over food and drink, there is plenty to choose from on The Strand.

Awesome spot for a walk with ice cream or coffee. Beautiful views and the cliff makes a great spot for taking photos.nCan use this area as the start for the Takapuna to Milford walk depending on the tides.nAlso has public toilets, rubbish bins and a world class all ages all abilities playground.nCheck water quality if going for a swim would be the only caution.

Really stunning beach. Just a few minutes from the city, with a lovely cafe and ice cream shop. Very dog friendly, big park for kids and a perfect beach for relaxing, swimming or whatever. Can get crowded at peak times but even then there’s normally plenty of room.

There is a long stretch of beachfront ideal for a sunset /sunrise walk with your kids/dogs. Rangitoto is directly opposite with views of the lighthouse too. The kids playground is also huge and features a 'hamster wheel' as well as climbing nets.
