Orakei Basin Carpark

Absolutely stunning views and such a peaceful area to take a walk, a few stairs to get to the car park left us having to catch our breath

The car park is down a single lane road with two small passing bays and has blind corners making it very difficult to see traffic coming. When two cars meet in driving in opposite directions, one has to back up to a passing bay. Parking spaces are limited and fill very quickly. Better to park on Upland Rd and use walking access path to the Orakie Basin walk.

I love visiting Orakei Basin. There is car parking here with walking access to the parking with great views from the carpark and an excellent opportunity to take photos. Orakei Basin walkway is close to the carpark and there are places to rest and enjoy the view around the edge of the basin. A very romantic place to visit with your partner. A safe place for boating and water-skiing. There is a boat ramp and a marine jetty. The flush times for the basins salt water are available on the internet. A great place to enjoy a romantic summer day with your partner. There are restaurants and amenities near to the entrance way to the Orakei Basin. The carpark currently opens at 7am and closes at 9pm.

It's a car park. Not much else to say. Hide or take valuables with you and park nicely as it's a nightmare with a boat trailer if people park badly!
