I haven't come across a smaller room ever in NZ, even though I travel extensively across the country for business. It was absolutely cramped, with even basic stuff like microwave missing. Lighting in the room was so dim, I was struggling to read my book. There was no hair dryer, or shampoo in the bathroom. The width of the cabinet was less than half of that of mine. Hotel parking is limited and located in a clumsy area. And I would definitely like to meet the great person who has painted the demarcation lines in the parking area. You would literally struggle to park an SUV without touching the lines on two sides. The receptionists were lousy, unimpressive and didn't seem to give a monkey's to their customers. The good things about this hotel - good location heart of the city, and lots of eateries around , and the room and bathroom were definitely clean. But, all this at a negotiated rate of around $400 per night. Doesn't seem worthy at all!!
Rooms are small but clean and cosy. You don't need more than what's offered. It's perfect. The food is AMAZING and should have a queue of people waiting to get a spot, for a kilometre outside. Friendly and helpful staff. Parking is a schlep but who cares when everything else is on point Rooms: 4/5
Stayed 3 nights for New Year holidays 2022 to 2023. Reasons for not giving this hotel 5 stars: *Provided no shampoo, no body lotion, no hair conditioner, no facial tissue *Noisy area, hooligans at night shouting outside and running around the hallways *Free car park space is limited *No desk, no chair / sofa *Bathroom is quite narrow *Cabinet space is limited Otherwise was a great stay! Location is amazing, amenities and dozens of restaurants at the doorstep. Very helpful staff.
Excellent location, but on the main strip so can be louder. The accommodation itself is quite interesting and fun to explore as it's an old bank. Incredibly friendly and helpful front desk staff, great bar attached to the lobby. Tons of restaurants within a short walking distance.
I've travelled extensively...over 30 countries...I've never come across someone as rude as the young lady at the reception. I suggest she rethink her career path as customer service is clearly not her calling. I'm not a New Zealander, haven't stayed here before, nor a Hamilton local , so when she told me I could park in the free parking clearly I'm going to ask where that is situated. You would think I'd asked her what country I was in...she stared at me, rolled her eyes and in a condescending tone told me "behind us". I didn't feel welcome from the get go...and it didn't improve. Room was like a sauna, A/C on all night still left bedrooms very warm. Don't waste your time or money!
Reception is gorgeous but quite deceptive when it comes to the rooms. If you’re looking for a place to stay very briefly, this is the place to go. Close to all the clubs and restaurants. But if you like the aesthetics of a room, beware of: -Mould/ Mildew in the shower -Big step up/ down to and from the shower -Dirty walls -Unclean valances -Staff don’t do hand over notes cause I was called to vacate the room when I had already organised a late check out Wouldn’t recommend for the price.
The room is lovely and spacious with my 3 grandchildren and myself, double beds x2 amenities and shower and toilet. Clean and very tidy. Loving our stay Nearby activities: What can you say your in the hub of Hamilton corner of Victoria and Collingwood. You pay for your parking which is enclosed which is great, the mall is very close by and a lot of eateries and bar restaurants on Victoria St very handy.
so. if you don't no rooms don't come with a car park..its an additional fee. under ground lock up.find the out door deck rooms ..great place Rooms: 5/5
Comfortable, clean with helpful staff. Simple room with everything you need and in the middle everything. Only letdown was the cafe, Sisterfields, burnt, dry pancakes, with only smidge of maple syrup if any. 1 out of 3 edible, staff friendly but way too busy for feedback while there. Would recommend rooms for short stays.
Small room 2 double beds should be 1 king. Shower had big step up to it also down when you got very dangerous if you slip. Had a smaller step to get into the bathroom. Only way to fill the kettle was to use a cup couldn't get it under the toilet hand basin. The 2 massage chairs there take a $2 coin one was out of order 2nd one put $2 in didn't work either told reception no refund of the $2 It's the second time we stayed there 1st time was great but this time very disappointed. Won't be going back.
