Distinction Hotel

The rooms were clean tidy, the corridors and entrances to each wing were old and tired. The exterior was tidy but looking a bit old. We enjoyed a hot breakfast each day in the main complex. The staff were friendly and polite. I would happily stay here again. Rooms: The rooms were well presented, clean and tidy. Ours had a large desk and big TV. Walkability: We didn't find a lot to do within walking distance. 45 minute walk to Te Awa to the cenima and some resterants. Food & drinks: The hot breakfast was great. Saussages, bacon, eggs, baked beans, mushrooms, hash browns, tomatoes. Plus, a full continental breakfast. Noteworthy details: The rooms are located in separate wings, accessible via extremal doors that open onto the main carpark. Moving between our rooms and the main complex reception and restaurants required us to cross the carpark.

Went to Distinction for the Race. Great location for Te Rapa races. Rooms a little tired but OK for the price. Had dinner there on sat night, food was plain but good. Fish and steak dinners were very nice and good value. Staff freindly and polite. Would go back.

Clean, perfect rooms. Enough Shampoo and conditioner for a thick hair wash Really great food and stunning daily specials. Brekkie to keep you going all day and amazing staff all round.Rooms: 5/5

STUNNING Lobby, delightful service, EXCELLENT and expansive and convention facilities . Delicious food and excellent service. Updated would be a VERY LUXURIOUS HOTEL. Expansive property provides plenty of spots outside to enjoy.Rooms: 3/5

Good sized rooms but our experience checking out was very unpleasant. We had an early check out and requested if a pre-packed breakfast would be available. At no point were we informed that this would be arranged for an additional charge. So it was a bit shocking to find out we were charged $140 for a ham sandwich and a couple of baked goods for a family of 4. The front desk manager’s tone Colin didn’t help de-escalate the misunderstanding either.

Check in was easy and quick. Room was a good size. Bathroom had a good size shower with good water pressure and hot water. The bed was comfortable. Can't comment on the quality of the food as I didn't eat there although the menus seemed confusing and just a little bit expensive. The restaurant menu was different from the menu in the room and the menu on line was different again. Plenty of parking. The location was a little way from the city but still an easy drive on the main road. No problem. The only small issue was every so often you heard the bang of a door. I suspect this was the floor / Hallway door. Would help to get a softer close mechanism on the door.

See first review below gave 4 stars. My second stay here its for work so little choice" but would not stay here again. With in an hour of arival i caught to cockroach under water glasses, left then on the bench. I assumed house keepung would take care of that, they sat there for 2 days. The AC is inconsistent some times blastinh hot sometimes not heating at all, but always ridiculously noisy. Has a shub, which is ok i gues, but water pressure was horrendous. Staff i spoke with was condacending and just unhelpful. No complaints. Rooms good, a little weird with the bed set up to many beds crambed in. Shower pressure lacked and shower flooded a little. Was there for a conference, conference rooms good. Restaurant and bar good staff great.

had a great time. we spent the week there. service was great, the front desk, restaurant staff and house keepers were helpful and polite. Room was very well kept and comfortable. Restaurant was delicious, same with the breakfast package. Location was perfect, it sits right next to a low traffic road then leads to a set of traffic lights to jump straight onto the motorway, easily allowing you to either entry the busy town centre or avoid it and head out of the city limits. Never had and issue getting around the Hotel. Parking was also plentiful, even if there isn't any marked parks. It was a fantastic stay
