The staff I dealt with esp at the counter are not kind. You never get a smile and they make you feel unwelcome. And as if to rub salt on a wound, they knowingly did not apply VIP on my purchase. Such a terrible experience! Go to Albany Spotlight where you'll be treated better.
Lots of options for the house: fabric, sewing machines, arts and crafts, baking accessories and lots more. The staff are friendly too and will help you find things if needed.
Staff knowledge on materials and sewing machines is excellent. Ended up buying a totally different machine than what we originally thought we'd need...But has proved to be the correct one , so very appreciative
Some deals to be had, just staff are very rude & unhelpful if you can find one. They make you feel very unwelcome and a hindrance that you are there. Prefer to shop at the Albany branch.
Spotlight is like a piñata for home makers and crafters... you never know quite what surprises are in store. Knowledgeable staff are enormously helpful for those stuck on ideas.
Who doesn't love a Spotlight store? I am a regular at SPOTLIGHT in Rutherford and Bennett's Green, both of these stores are near Newcastle in NSW. I certainly wasn't going to give up the opportunity to make a trip to the store in Wairau Park and spent 30 happy minutes scanning the merchandise before selecting a new supply of knitting yarn and several lengths of patchwork fabrics. The staff were helpful and friendly. LOVED MY VISIT TO SPOTLIGHT, WAIRAU PARK.
Bloody useless. Must be short staff or something because it took a lot of time to get some help. All of the ladies acted like I was ruining their day for asking for help. Lots tried to fob me off. One lady was really blunt and just said "no, I am not going to help you. Go find someone else." Then added "sorry can't let go of this shelf." Single worst experience at a spotlight I have had
Spotlight is a fun place to go, lots of inspirational ideas to making things. Lots of products in stock, parking can be a little busy, but otherwise good.
Although I wasn't able to get the item I went in for, the lovely staff member went above and beyond to try and find the item in their stock.
Got asked so many questions to return the duvet cover. Just feel very unwelcoming. Would much preferred to go to Albany brunch in the future.
