The ride up the chairlift is amazing. When you get to the top you can see all of Queenstown. The views are amazing. You can also ride the luge which is a blast. Take lots of pictures while you are up. I definitely recommend when you are visiting Queenstown.
This was the honestly the highlight of our entire trip to New Zealand. The views we got from the gondola were absolutely stunning in early July, and there was absolutely no queue to get tickets. The biggest hit, however, was the luge. The lines for the chairlift got long at about midday, but it always moved quickly. My family and I had gotten the unlimited package and made sure to put it do good use, riding down the 2 tracks at least 10 times. There was so much to do on those karts! Race with a family member, appreciate the views of Queenstown below, the opportunities were endless. You can't go to Queenstown without doing this!
Great experience riding the gondola and luge.nnWeather wasn’t great when I visit, I would expect amazing views on a good day.nSurely the view of snow mountains on a sunny day shall be amazing.nnGreat fun with the luge, do plan well if you’d like your photo and videos taken on your own, have a partner or friend to be prepared at specific spots for great photos and videos
Views are great. However the viewing platform itself is surprisingly narrow so it fills up quick even on a cloudy day. Lots of construction currently, so not sure what the upgraded experience will be like. Opening time isn't quite accurate since they didn't run gondolas until about 25 minutes after the listed open time. Lots of potential but hard to give a construction site 5 stars.
I felt like a kid again, genuinely yelling “IT’S THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE!!” more than once. The gondola ride already set the mood with breathtaking views, but the real star of the day was the Luge. What. A. Blast!!!!nnNo matter your age, this is one of those rare experiences that’s 100% pure fun from start to finish. My partner and I did 6 rides and honestly? They are absolutely right, once is never enough! Every single lap was just as thrilling and laugh-filled as the first.nnIt had the perfect mix of silly competition, a little splash of adrenaline, and lots of happy memories. We couldn’t stop smiling or screaming, in the best way. Staff were lovely, everything was well-organised, and the vibe was just top notch.nnAlready dreaming of coming back: next time, maybe unlimited rides?
