We initially wanted to dine at the restaurant too but it was fully booked so we just ended up purchasing the gondola tickets and enjoyed the nice views.nThere is an outdoor deck where you can capture beautiful landscapes and I highly recommend going a bit before sunset so you can watch the beautiful colors as the sun set. We stayed about 2 hours just riding the gondola and taking pics but I'm sure it will take longer if you dine at the restaurant as well as do the Luge and go skiing. Overall, simply seeing the view with the gondola tickets is great already. The tickets do include a return ride and there is a nice small cafe/bar up top inside if you want to sit down but seats are limited unless you reserve in advance.
Magnificent views from the top, luge was closed due to snow on the track but staff working hard to shovel it off. Clearing tables in main restaurant a bit slow, took previous persons dirty dishes to the bar to be told to take them back to the table. Only fault we experienced. Watching parachutes gliding past the window was exciting. Free photos an absolute bonus. Smooth gondola ride too, seats 10. Great day for the whole family
Cold as a fridges interior up there that I felt my hands being numb when my family, some family friends, and I came to explore and enjoy around the place, but the arrival and trip there was with it for me. Haven't tried the menu of the café and bar Skyline, but the place appears to be neatly organised and clean.nnI went for three luge rides with some three other friends of our group and the experience was exhilarating. Although, yes, I wish the tracks were a little longer, but, in their defense, there some lots of construction going on around, so I'll trust the process and look for it's bright future.nnOverall, the experience ha been enjoyable and fun. Might come back whenever I/we get the chance. Also, not to mention the breathtaking view all around Queenstown with the snowy mountains, the city, and the lake.
Our family has been huge fans of the Luge ever since it opened in our hometown, Singapore. Visiting the Luge here was one of our must-do activities in Queenstown, and it definitely did not disappoint.nnWe even spent our Lunar New Year here! I’m quite scared of heights, but the gondola ride was incredibly smooth and steady, which made the journey up very comfortable. The views of Queenstown were absolutely magnificent, and we even spotted a few sheep on the mountains along the way.nnOnce we reached the top, the cool temperature and the stunning scenery made the whole trip even more worthwhile. Of course, the highlight was the luge rides—we went for 6 rounds because honestly, one is never enough! The entire experience was so much fun and truly memorable for our family.nnInterestingly, the waiting time here felt shorter compared to Singapore because the procedures are a bit different. From the second round onwards, we could take our own luge carts, which helped reduce the waiting time.nnAs loyal supporters of the Luge, we’ll definitely be visiting it in other countries too. Highly recommended for families visiting Queenstown!
We had a great afternoon up at Skyline, the gondola ride provides great views over Queenstown and the surrounding area, probably some of the most panoramic of the area. The trip starts with some free photos, so be aware of this. They are a nice keepsake. Then the cafe was reasonable for what it is, coffee was good and the choice fair.nnThe luge is great fun. But the queues on busy sunny days may be too much for some. We waited quite a while for our first shot. And as.we we're doing it with a 3 year old, once was enough to wait. So we didn't do our second time through due to timing. But that's not a reflection on the experience which is good fun.nnOverall, I would recommend the experience, although if your only doing the gondola, it's perhaps a little pricey, my advice is to pair it with the luge before going up as it is much cheaper.
