A fantastic experience while in Queenstown. Budget for at least an hour or two to be at the top as well. There is a restaurant or just drinks section coffee and justices too. There is a shop with gifts and clothes, there are a few photo opportunities, and lots of other activities if you want them as options. We had a great time, had next to no wait time we came around midday on a Saturday.nYou can also buy tickets online, but you don't have to.
Booked for the buffet at 7.45pm post Queenstown Marathon for 6 people.nnAny restaurant that needs a gondola trip up to u know the views will be good!!nnViews 10/10! Not only on trip up as saw mountain goats etc but from the viewing platform and bar!nnWe paid extra to ensure a window seat and was worth the extra money as was outstanding views of Queenstown and the surrounding mountains!nnFood, to be honest you really couldn’t fault the food! Everything was absolutely amazing!nPost Mara we were hungry so we hit the buffet. The meat/grill section was honestly where I spent most my time! Pork, venison, grilled salmon oh just fantastic!nI’m not a sweets/dessert person but I did have some and it was delicious!nHome made ice cream Black Forest, chocolate brownie, lemon tart…..nnWhilst this isn’t a cheap option for a reward for post marathon and was also 2x girls birthdays it was worth it for the food and location/experience!!
A little pricey but a great view. Photos are free with QR downloads and the shots are great. Food great for a buffet style and cocktails were good. Challenging to climb after the gondola ride for those with mobility issues. I would say a great choice for everybody with kids 7 and up and people of all ages. You could bring younger ones, but the go-kart rides are a bit of a free-for-all people going all speeds!
Gondola ride – A fantastic experience to enjoy panoramic views of the city from above, featuring the most iconic lookout point of Queenstown.nnOn the other hand, I felt a bit saddened seeing trees being cut down to make way for the cable route. When viewed from below, that section appears bare and lacks the greenery seen in the surrounding forested mountain areas.
Great views of Queenstown however as we went in the morning, there were crowds and long queues for the luge. Would recommend going later in the afternoon if you can. Wind kept stopping the luge rides and chairlifts for safety so it took longer than expected but was fun regardless!
