The day we went was booked out so definitely book in advance! Was worth the time even though limited for beautiful views and encounters with different animals. However, clearer signage would’ve been better for us to navigate as it was a bit hard to go around. Leave at least 2-3 hours for this place and bring $2 coins for food!
I would say I am surprised to find this amazing park. The view is definitely no worse than the Gondola in Queenstown. Driving all the way up , I saw different animals along the way in the beautiful view. Very good for taking nice photos of the mountains and lakes.
YOU MUST BOOK BEFORE YOU GO!!nI did not know this before turning up, there is only a limited amount of slots for each day.nBut other than that, it's a really cool drive. Remember to bring a $2 coin to get your food for the animals. Bring more than one coin! My money got lost in the machine and I didn't get any food to give to the animals . The Lord of the Rings filming locations were the true highlight for me, super cool. Be prepared to walk up a lot of steep slopes!
I’ve visited Queenstown a dozen times, but I never knew about this place until a friend told me about it. I got the chance to check it out last week, and I must say, it’s a must-visit! Not only can you see a variety of different animals, but it also offers a breathtaking view—better than the gondola. It’s definitely a spot everyone should experience!
I went there early in the morning at 8am and it was raining quite heavily so there wasn’t any crowd. Bad thing is, you can’t see much as it was really pouring, it was even snowing when we were near the highest point. Fun to still see snow on 21 November, but many animals are all hiding from the rain, so u don’t see much of them. And we couldn’t get out of the car too as it was too cold. View of Queenstown was also blocked by all the mist and fog. So it was not as rewarding this time round. Best to come when the weather is good and sunny. Not the farms’s fault, it’s just us being unlucky.
