We dined here for dinner on a Saturday night in the school holidays and expected it to be busy so made sure to book, however there were only two, maybe three other people dining at the same time.nnThe food was wonderful, we ordered the stuffed chicken, Lamb, and pork belly. Everything was presented beautifully and tasted amazing. Unfortunately the lamb was overcooked and dry, even though we requested it to be cooked medium, however this didn’t ruin the meal.nnThe location of Salt and Pepper is lovely, great views and plenty of parking. The building is beautiful, however, the atmosphere was nonexistent and really let the place down. There was no music and the place was so silent we felt awkward as if we were the only people there. It seems as though other people have felt the same when reading reviews so would be awesome if something was done about this as it has the potential to be such a lively place and would have taken our experience from a four star to a five star review.
I was initially hesitant about this place after repeat phone calls and a left message for a reservation were ignored and we had to go somewhere else at late notice, but the next day we gave them another chance and this time managed to get through for a booking. I'm glad we did as the service and food were excellent. That despite the venison and the lamb meals both being exactly the same other than the meat there are supposed to be variations to the salsa verde, but this didn't detract from how good the food and service was.nnNote that the menu linked from the Google Maps listing has been changed and isn't correct when we visited on 25 Jan 2025. Still good options, though.nnThere's a surprising amount of seating both indoors and outdoors, and there's a playground across the road for kids.
I really enjoyed my stay.nThe atmosphere was very inviting. I particularly liked the interior design, brightness and plants.nThe food was very tasty and there was something for every taste. I can especially recommend the pancakes and avocado smash. Not to forget the coffee.nThe service is also to be praised, although it was very crowded, they did their best and had a nice chat with you.nThank you! I will definitely be back!
Wanted to have a nice dinner with my daughter. Waited around for about 10-15 and the only ones in the restaurant mins without service. Another group came in after 5 mins of us being there and was welcomed no problems at all.nnA shame as was really looking forward to this space.
We enjoyed this venue. The chicken tacos were very good although at $10 each a bit on the expensive side. The outlook is excellent but they need to manage the small stuff a bit better. The staff were not engaged. Not rude by any means but they didn’t seem to share my enthusiasm for lunch at their place. The toilet was clean but the waste paper basket was over flowing which is so easy to manage. I make these observations to provide the operator feedback that will hopefully improve their business. We will definitely return.
