It's a great place to eat and drink in Hanmer Springs, The food is outstanding and there is a good range of beers and wines. Nice atmosphere inside and out. I found the staff to be very courteous and friendly. I highly recommend this venue.
We managed to get a seat next to the outdoor fireplace on a busy Friday. Friendly young server from Germany took our order. We ordered the Venison, which was wonderful, mine was perfectly cooked, my sons a little more than perfect but still great. The food was delicious and the service and atmosphere were excellent. Definitely recommended and will be back.
Overall, it's not too bad. Slightly overpriced for the mains and whilst some elements on the dishes were really nice, the sides were lacking. For example, gourmet potatoes with steak were just boiled with some butter and parsley and the salad was a basic coleslaw.nnI do not recommend getting a bowl of $18 chips. It equates to roughly $1 per chip, I was extremely disappointed when that arrived at our table.nnThe wait time for food which we were warned was going to be 20 minutes, ended up taking over an hour, which is too long, especially with a toddler on tow.nnThe waiter was amazing! Very friendly, accommodating and just great at his job.nnThe atmosphere was good and it is a nice spot to sit.
Very enjoyable lunch out. I had the pork burger and daughter had beef burger. Both very good and nice hot chips to go with it. I decided to try the peanut butter and jelly cocktail. It was what you would expect and very nice. For dessert daughter got the sorbet and that was a tick. I had the apple and Berry crumble with vanilla icecream and custard. The apple and Berry crumble was a bit different to expectations with more juice and the crumble was slightly charred or had that flavouring. Was good but not what I expected coming from Oz. The service was excellent from start to finish, friendly, helpful and engaging. Atmosphere was a bit quiet but I think was just due to Sunday lunch. Would go again.
Great food, service was fast and food came out quickly too.nWe were a table of 9, and everything was amazing.nWe had an early dinner as we were advised it would be busy later, and they were not kidding! When we left, it was packed!nBe aware, the kids chicken burger is made with the tegal takeout southern style chicken tenders, and my 6 year old daughter found these too spicy to eat.
