Disgusting rude staff that laugh at you. This place is an absolute rip off. They take your good quality clothing if an seller and seem to ‘ donate ‘ unsuitable items or the staff take. Making excuses of all sorts. Been in numerous times with good brand clothing and been totally rejected.nnThe staff think they work at some fancy designer store, when let’s be honest it’s a second hand store, they are ripping everyone off in Woolston.nnThe other bad reviews don’t surprise me. People need to stop supporting this place, what they charge and how they treat sellers and customers is disgusting.nnI’ve had numerous bad experiences but the gossiping, rude staff that laugh at you definitely add to a horrid experience.nnI won’t be back. Neither will be multiple people I know.nnLet’s stop shopping here and use some other good second hand stores around that care for their customers.
Such an awesome second hand clothing shop! One of my favourites around Christchurch. Such good finds here and the great variety of clothing that they carryso my boyfriend can shop as well not just annoy me And not to mention the staff are so welcoming and lovely, always so bubbly and happy to help, the atmosphere is probably the best out of all the second hand clothing stores around! Definitely recommended
I called ahead to confirm if they were accepting clothes before making the drive. I've previously consigned clothes with them, so I was familiar with the process. Upon arrival, I handed over a substantial amount of clothing for the staff to review, which included brands they typically accept like Zara, Princess Polly, Abrand jeans, vintage tee shirts, Wrangler and GAP.nnHowever, just two minutes later, the elderly lady who was helping me handed back all my items, stating, “it’s not what they were after.” I was puzzled since the brands I provided were consistent with what they usually accept. When I looked inside the bag, it didn’t seem like she had bothered to thoroughly go through my items.nnTo add to my confusion, while waiting, I noticed they had old, poor-quality shoes for sale that looked like they should have been discarded. The inconsistency in their selection process and the subpar quality of some of their sale items was disappointing.
I'm so surprised and perplexed to read the latest negative comments here. I'm a regular and have had nothing but positive experiences in the shop. The staff are super friendly and welcoming, very professional, and the store is beautifully run and laid out. Any negative comments must have come from someone with another agenda, or who completely misinterpreted their experience with the staff. Would highly recommend visiting the shop if you haven't already. A+++
Always love shopping at Recycle the Tannery, staff are always accommodating and good to recommend pieces of clothes! A good range of prices too from affordable to higher end designer.
