Delicious Kerala cuisine! I was pleasantly surprised that they served parboiled rice instead of basmati-it made the meal feel much more authentic. The chicken kondattam was perfectly seasoned, packed with bold and balanced flavors. Their thosai was also excellent-light, crisp, and well made. The curry leaves left a warm, spicy aftertaste that lingered pleasantly, making me crave evennmore. The price was also very affordable.

Food is alright. Maybe a 4 star. But the discrimination is not okay. I wished we and other Indian customers would get treated the same as other nationalities. No tissue paper no spoons for us and other brown customers.  it’s not like we would pay less than listed price so don’t know why the difference in service.nRe: that’s not the only table, other local couple got the same service except all brown customers.

Zero marks to the chicken biriyani which is below average. The Beef puttu had some life to it but the meat was kind of undercooked.Duck Mappas and Porotta was top notch but couldn't justify the beef dry fry which wasn't cooked properly and felt like eating raw meat. The malayalam speaking lady in the front doesn't really know how to talk to customers and felt like a display of attitude more than anything else. Hospitality in New Zealand is all about the smiles and the pep talk if you don't know.The chefs were warm and managed to smile

Had the biryani and Tattu Dosa from the newly opened Rolly store last night.nnFirst of all, the customer service was great. Even though they were quite busy, there was no waiting time since I ordered over the phone, and the staff were friendly and efficient.nnThe biryani, however, was below expectations. I know it's only $16.50, so you can't expect a premium biryani, but this was literally steamed rice, a pickle, and a few pieces of meat. It lacked the spices, aroma, and flavour that make a biryani a biryani.nnOn the other hand, the Tattu Dosa was really good, and their sambar,chutney was excellent as always. I'd happily order that again.nnOverall, a bit of a mixed experience—great service and a tasty dosa, but the biryani definitely needs improvement.

I went to the new Rolleston branch and ordered the mutton biriyani. I had seen a review beforehand saying it was basically just steamed rice with meat, so I was a bit hesitant to try however after reheating it the next day, I was met by how good it tasted. The flavours came through really well and the mutton was delicious. I’d recommend steaming or heating the food before eating, as it really brings out its full potential. Overall, I enjoyed it a lot and would recommend giving it a try!
