The freshest, most delectable, mouth watering fish and seafood I’ve eaten in NZ, UK, EU or anywhere else. Just astoundingly succulent, juicy and fresh. It tastes like it had just leapt out of the ocean. I cannot fault the expert cook on this - crispy light delicate batter and lovingly selected, prepared and perfected seafood. The service is slightly barbed but the food is just too good to not give five stars.
Quintessential fish'n chippery that is community quaint, and with an extensive menu that will satisfy your seafood and takeaway cravings. The cheerful staff are efficient and grateful producing fresh, filling food.
Used to be so much better nnThis place used to be our go to but has sadly become really poor quality and the staff have got ruder and ruder. We recently had some fish and chips there on a sunny day and I can only describe it as awful and a complete waste of money. The hot dogs and smelt and looked like they were severely past their due date and the fish tasted too fishy and the chips were an oily mess.nnDo better! You used to be our go to spot, now I will not be going back.
The fish was good but the chips were the worst chips we have ever eaten, tasted refried twice, very oily and some were darker and more oily than others, looked like left overs only fit for discarding, in fact we had to throw most of it away. What topped it off was the customer service, abrupt and dismissive like they were doing us every favour in the book and they are always right while the customers are wrong. Wouldn’t recommend.
We have been travelling around the north island and over the two years we have tried many fish and chips shops.nToday my wife and I ordered the ‘fresh’ battered cod fillet and chips from Plimmerton Fish Suppliers. The fish tasted frozen and the batter was pale,small and soggy. The chips were pale yellow and lacked any crispness.nAn underwhelming fish lunch with poor to average produce.nThe bayside view however is exceptional and parking is pretty easy even on a beautiful sunny Thursday.
