Patrick’s Pies Goldstar Bakery Tauranga

I was recommended to try this place out while I was holidaying in Tauranga, they did not disappoint. I was too busy eating, then realised I forgot to take some pics of the actual pies. Add this place to your must do/try while in Tauranga. My fav was the pork belly, applensauce and cheese

Simply the best pies and cream doughnuts in the area, if you’ve gotten pies from anywhere else near you’ve just wasted your time

Great pies but get there early if you have a preference as the tradies have been in and probabaly cleared out your special pie desire well before noon. I also found the lady on the till grumpy. I love pies so was a bit disappointed. As an aside there were five of us kiwis on post war construction in Kosovo, when asked what the first thing they bought to eat when they got home, four out of five said a meat pie. Pies are special to me.

I have to say, the price is high for a below average bacon, egg, cheese and tomato pie. The eggs are clearly not free range by the colour of the yolk. It's also not nice biting into a whole egg, it would be nice whisked through with a bit of salt. Could not taste cheese and minimal tomato. Bacon had a lovely flavour.

Today at the Crossing at 3pm I purchased 2 Mince Savouries they were so dryed out, with little filling yet I had to pay $3-80 for each one this is not the first time I have had this problem as the last time I purchased from Patrick's Pies was a Bacon and Egg pie which I had the same problem, I know it was late in the day, but if you are still open the Quality should still be there, I would have taken them back but I had already driven off, I don't think the Seagulls would even eat themnI won't be back Bethlehem Hot Bread Shop knows how to make good quality food.
