Pak’nSave Sylvia Park is one of the better options if you’re after cheap groceries but still want a cleaner, more modern shopping experience. Being located right next to the Sylvia Park shopping centre gives it a bit of an edge — it feels a little more polished than some of the older Pak’nSaves around Auckland, and the vibe is a bit less hectic, at least during off-peak hours.nnThe store itself is fairly new, well-lit, and spacious. Aisles are wide enough to get through without having to constantly dodge other trolleys, and the layout makes sense. It’s still got that classic Pak’nSave look — plain, functional, no fancy extras — but it’s more pleasant to walk around than somewhere like Papakura or Royal Oak.nnPrices are solid. You’ll find all the usual weekly deals and budget-friendly bulk items. If you’re planning a big shop or trying to save a bit each week, this place delivers. The produce section is usually well-stocked and fresher than average. Same goes for the meat department — good variety, and the quality seems to be a bit more consistent here compared to other branches. The bakery has your standard breads and rolls, nothing gourmet, but decent for everyday needs.nnStaff are generally helpful. They’re not going to chase you down to offer assistance, but if you ask someone, they’ll usually point you in the right direction or find what you need. Checkout times can vary — self-service is available and useful for smaller shops, while the manned checkouts are hit-or-miss depending on the time of day.nnParking is actually pretty good since it shares space with Sylvia Park Mall. There’s heaps of it, and it’s not as chaotic as some other Pak’nSave carparks. That said, it can get busy during peak shopping hours or weekends, especially when the mall is packed, but it’s manageable and definitely better than the tight squeeze at places like Royal Oak.nnOne minor issue is that, like with other Pak’nSaves, not everything listed online matches what’s available in-store. So if you’re going in for something specific you saw on the website, be prepared for it to be out of stock or just not stocked at this location.nnAll up, Pak’nSave Sylvia Park strikes a pretty good balance — you get the low prices and variety that Pak’nSave is known for, but with a cleaner, more organised store layout and a bit less stress. It’s a solid option if you’re in the area and don’t mind skipping the frills to get the savings.
First time in NZ, and you get lost to which places to go to in order to buy those groceries and stuff. It is one of the most recommended supermarkets from most of whom I've met here in NZ. So I, too, visited this place in Sylvia Park, and right away, I could say that there is definitely a difference in prices. This supermarket was huge and was crowded as well. Budget friendly, I would say. For those living in Auckland city, NZ for sure this must be go to shopping place. I enjoyed my shopping experience here, and hell ya, I did save some bucks.
I've been here many times and every time there is one specific worker that is constantly rude and disrespectful. She looks Indian/Fijian, has short hair and wears glasses..After my last encounter with her, I will not be returning to the store for said reasons. I advise you re-train her in customer services and professionalism.
The coconut mango mousse donut made in the bakery is the best donut. It’s found in the cabinet with the muffins. The mousse is so light and very generous, the mango pieces are so tasty too. And the chocolate top is so smooth. The white chocolate cake by Decor Cakes is the 2nd best
There’s a polite way and a rude way of asking if someone has scanned an item. “Is this together” and trying to pull the item from my child’s arms, is not it. If customers say they have scanned it, don’t then be rude and accuse them of lying and pull stupid childish faces. Surely, your staff should know that once items are scanned and weighed, they can be removed from the scale?? Training up staff to not be rude is very simple and a fair requirement to ask. If this cannot be achieved, get rid of your self checkout and serve your customers properly. Telling staff to always assume the worst in people, rather than checking the computer system like they are suppose to, says more about the staff than the customers. Going through self checkout here is like going through court security. Treating all self checkout customers like criminals, when they are spending money in your store, is not ok. Awful experience. Any of your staff come near our children again, we will not hesitate to call enforcement.
