Pak’nSave Mt Albert is one of those classic budget supermarkets that gets the job done without trying to be anything more than it is. If you’re after cheap groceries and don’t mind a bit of hustle and bustle, it’s a solid spot. It’s not the biggest Pak’nSave around, but it’s well-stocked and pretty efficient.nnThe store itself has a bit of an older feel, but it’s laid out in a way that makes it easy enough to navigate. Aisles can get a little tight when it’s busy, especially around the produce and meat sections, but nothing too dramatic. It has that typical no-frills setup — everything’s functional and geared toward practicality rather than presentation.nnPrices are where Mt Albert delivers. You can definitely save a fair bit here, especially if you’re stocking up on everyday items or buying for a big household. The fresh produce section can be hit or miss depending on what day you go — sometimes you’ll find great fruit and veg, other times it looks like it’s been sitting out too long. The meat department usually has good deals, but again, check the dates. Bakery and dairy sections are basic but cover the essentials.nnStaff are usually fine — not overly chatty, but if you ask for help, they’ll point you in the right direction. It’s more of a grab-what-you-need-and-go atmosphere, like most Pak’nSaves. The checkout area can get pretty busy during the afternoon and weekend peaks, but they do try to keep things moving. Self-checkouts are available and help a lot with smaller shops.nnParking is okay. The carpark isn’t massive and can get tight, especially during school run hours or weekends. You’ve got to be a bit patient getting in and out, but it’s not the worst out there.nnLike most Pak’nSaves, what you see online doesn’t always match what’s on the shelves, so don’t rely too heavily on the website if you’re coming in for something specific.nnOverall, Pak’nSave Mt Albert is a practical, no-fuss supermarket where the focus is on savings over style. If you’re shopping with a budget in mind and don’t care too much about extras or presentation, it’ll serve you well.
Always busy, but that's a good sign. Lots of parking at the top and underground. Been shopping here for 2 months and haven't found fault, good quality products, fresh produce, good cuts and portion meats and everything for your daily needs. And the best part, most affordable prices I live closer to the new world and countdown in our area but spend the extra 5mins to get to pak n save. Good pick and collect service too, just enter code at lockers and collect. Thanks.
I bought these garlic bread last Sunday around midday, cooked one for dinner, and discovered it was moldy. The expiration date on the label doesn’t match the one on the package. The worst part was the customer service attitude when I showed them these photos today. They questioned my photos and told me I should have called the number directly so they could contact the factory right away. Thankfully, I got a refund this time JUST THIS TIME. Interesting I randomly picked three packs from the pile, and I doubt these were the only moldy ones. But two of the service staff insisted I was the only one who had complained. Off course!
extremely rude staff. checking bags is their job and i understand it and always cooperate whenever they ask to check my bag. however, more than a couple of times some really ill mannered women staff have been extremely rude and unprofessional with me for no reason. despite showing them the receipt and letting them go through my bags, they ask questions like where did you get this from, like lady, where else would I get a chilled bag of frozen veg LMAO? Can't you READ what's on the receipt lol? Not sure if they do background checks before hiring their staff.
Quite possibly the worst Pak n Save in Auckland. Just returned today from what can only be described as overcrowded, stressful environment and overstimulating. Staff are seen having chats in the middle of the supermarket floor while shoppers attempt to navigate the aisles around the staff. The only good part about their supermarket was their hot food section where they had used to have the best fried chicken - nowadays when you go past, the once friendly team is blocked off by new infrastructure that blocks off face to face interaction with tall fridges and pre packaged meat. The shelves were unstocked and products were not where they were meant to be. Staff were unhelpful and when they know you're coming to ask for help, they avoid eye contact like the plague. When I was looking for a particular product, I looked up to see if there was any left on top and noticed the pallets at the very top look like they're about to drop at any given moment!! Felt completely unsafe.nnCheckout lines are crowded and sometimes you'll be waiting in line for over 30minutes till you make your way to the front. Would not recommend Pak n Save Mt Albert at all! Incredibly stressful experience.
