Excellent store, friendly check out staff and even though busy on the weekend it still made for a pleasant shopping experience. And now with a coffee fix too! Near other major anchors, outlets and shopping destinations. Parking does fill up fast.. plan your weekend shopping to avoid the rush.
1. Misleading Product Pricing / Incorrect Shelf LabellingnA promotional sign advertising “2 packs of tomatoes for $4.00” was placed above a different tomato product priced at $3.39, which created a misleading impression for customers. In my case, this incorrect placement directly caused me to select the wrong product and bring it to the checkout under the reasonable belief that it was part of the advertised promotion. My experience is a clear example of how this pricing display was misleading to customers.nn2. Serious Concerns Regarding Staff Conduct and Failure to Resolve Customer ComplaintnDuty Manager repeatedly insisted that the store had done nothing wrong, stating that he had “taken photos” and that the signage was correct, while making no effort whatsoever to understand the customer’s concern or provide any constructive resolution. Rather than handling the matter professionally.nnI spent approximately 20 minutes being sent between the counter and customer service area, with two children accompanying me, only to receive no assistance, no resolution, and no meaningful response to the concerns I raised. My family and I found the entire experience extremely frustrating and upsetting. Even my 2 kids said they are so rude.nnThe dismissive and rude attitude displayed by your staff has seriously undermined my confidence in Albany Pak’nsave’ ability to handle customer concerns professionally.
Pak’nSave Albany is a standout supermarket that earns a full five stars for value, selection, and overall experience. It delivers on what shoppers want most in a grocery store and does so consistently.nnThe range of products is extensive. You will find fresh produce that is vibrant and well stocked, bakery items that smell inviting, and a wide variety of everyday essentials. There are plenty of choices for meat, seafood, dairy, and pantry staples, so you can complete a full weekly shop without needing to visit multiple stores. The store also carries a selection of international foods, making it easier to find ingredients for diverse meals.nnPrices are a highlight. Pak’nSave is known for competitive pricing, and the Albany location lives up to that reputation. You can stock up on bulk items and larger family packs without feeling the pinch, and special deals are clearly marked and easy to spot.nnThe layout of the store makes shopping efficient. Aisles are wide, signs are clear, and products are easy to locate. The produce section is especially appealing with fresh fruit and vegetables arranged neatly and attractively. Shopping here feels straightforward and stress free.nnStaff are helpful and friendly. Checkout is generally quick, and there are enough tills open during peak times to keep lines moving. The overall environment feels organised and customer focused.nnParking is convenient with plenty of spaces close to the entrance, which adds to the ease of doing your grocery shop here.nnOverall, Pak’nSave Albany is a reliable, well stocked, and great value supermarket that delivers a great shopping experience each time. It is a solid five star choice for everyday grocery needs.
Pak’nSave Albany is one of the bigger branches on the North Shore, and it definitely shows. The store is spacious, fairly modern, and usually well-stocked, making it a popular choice for families and bulk shoppers. It keeps to the classic Pak’nSave model — low prices, minimal decor, and a focus on practicality over presentation — but the Albany location feels a bit more polished than some of the older ones.nnThe layout is easy to follow, with wide aisles and clear signage, so you’re not bumping trolleys every few seconds. The shelves are usually full, especially earlier in the day, and there’s a decent range of both budget brands and the more well-known labels. Prices are, as expected, very competitive. You’ll find good specials across most departments, and if you’re shopping for a big household, it’s one of the better options to keep costs down.nnThe fresh produce section is generally reliable. Some days the quality is top notch, other times it’s more average — pretty normal for Pak’nSave. The meat section offers good value and a decent selection, and the bakery is basic but has all the essentials. There’s also a reasonable selection of international foods, which reflects the local community well.nnStaff are usually friendly enough, though it’s mostly a self-service experience unless you go looking for help. Checkout times are fairly efficient, with a good number of lanes open during busy periods and a decent set of self-service checkouts for smaller shops.nnThe carpark is big, but it does fill up, especially on weekends. That said, it’s well laid out and doesn’t feel like a fight to find a spot, even when it’s busy. Being close to other stores and amenities makes it easy to combine errands in one trip.nnOne thing to note, like at other Pak’nSaves, is that what’s advertised online might not always match what’s in store, so it’s worth shopping with a bit of flexibility.nnAll up, Pak’nSave Albany is a good choice if you want decent prices, a clean store, and enough space to do a full shop without feeling crammed in. It’s practical, reliable, and does exactly what you’d expect — no frills, just solid savings.
I received an $85 parking charge from Parking Enforcement Services for parking in a Pak’nSave loading bay on private property. From my understanding, these charges are contractual in nature and rely on clear signage and terms. In my case, the signage and road markings were unclear, and the potential charge was not obvious. The notice therefore came as a genuine surprise. I believe the parking conditions were not communicated clearly enough to meet the standard expected under the Fair Trading Act. I was also concerned that the matter was escalated to Baycorp without any prior warning, and the additional costs and threats felt excessive in the circumstances.nnThe shop is good.
