I recently rented a car from Omega in Nelson and had an excellent experience from start to finish. While the car was a bit older and showed signs of wear and tear, it performed admirably throughout our trip without any issues.nnWhat truly stood out to me was the exceptional level of service provided by the staff. From the moment we arrived, we were picked up almost immediately, showcasing their efficiency and commitment to customer satisfaction. The staff members were incredibly kind, helpful, and attentive to our needs. They went above and beyond to ensure that we were satisfied with our rental experience.nnMoreover, I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and safety standards of the child seat provided to us for free. It was not only spotless but also fully compliant with regulations. It's worth noting that not every car comes equipped with back anchor tether, and its presence ensured compliance with legal requirements for securing child seats.nnOverall, I highly recommend this car rental company for their outstanding customer service, attention to detail, and commitment to safety. Despite the minor cosmetic flaws of the vehicle, the positive aspects of our rental experience far outweighed any shortcomings. I wouldn't hesitate to rent from them again in the future.
I was collected at Nelson Airport by the lovely Sharon- so helpful, bright and enthusiastic. She was quick to manage my heavy luggage for me and to load it into the rental car. The car was great- clean and easy to drive. When returning the car I was immediately transported to the airport. Great service. I will definitely use Omega again on future trips.
I hired a lovely little Mazda from Omega Queenstown ten days ago. As a solo female traveller in a lifetime adventure from over the ditch. The crew in Queenstown are EXCEPTIONAL. I’ve had a smile on my face for ten days.nArrived in Nelson after a long drive from Franz Joseph and stopped to grab fish and chips. The car would not restart.nGrabbed the contract as it was after office hours and Omega therefore closed and followed the instructions and called Roadsode Assist.nThe guy was there within 15 minutes thank you John and tested the battery and as I suspected the battery was faulty.nGot a restart and drove to my hotel and dropped my gear and camera equipment off without stopping the car. Drove the car to Omega Airport and dropped the car and keys into the drop box.nBy this time it was after 8 pm.nCaught a cab back to the hotel.nThe next morning I rang Omega Nelson to trouble suit the situation.nHelen was extremely rude, treating me with suspicion, as if the faulty battery was my fault. She even asked me how I’d gotten the car to the airport with a faulty battery, talked over the top of me, told me the car started perfectly fine for her, asked me about the pillow and dooner in the car, accused me of sleeping in the car and breaking the contract rules.nI was horrified. And explained I firstly travelled in remote areas as a wilderness photographer and the pillow and blanket were back ups in case there was a breakdown and I had no phone service. Or decided to take a stop and wait for pretty light to photograph.nWhy was I having to explain myself to her. She even said the Roadside Assistance gentleman didn’t know what he was talking about.nI explained that’s the thing with faulty batteries - they are unreliable. The battery was ten years old. I took a photo of his report he was sending to Omega.nI had around $150 out of pocket expenses on the jumpstart call and taxi cabs and missed a reunion evening with my friends in. Nelson.nThe whole reason I drove up here was to see them.nHelen never offered to compensate me. I asked if she could call a taxi for me to come back to the airport to pick up the car with a new battery and she said ‘you’ll just have to get yourself out here yourself I’m busy’.nnShe is a bully.nA lovely taxi driver helped me load my stuff into the taxi and I found myself crying at having to deal with this woman face to face.nnShe was horrible.nnDidn’t help me load my gear, again didn’t offer compensation, said she was disappointed because she thought she had a spare car now available to her.nnI explained again I have a 200,000 brand new motorhome In Australia and sleeping in a tiny Mazda 2 on a luxury holiday was not on my bucket list.nnMeanwhile I spoke to Queenstown - Shobana - whole has always been so incredibly kind, compassionate and extremely professional and I told her I felt like cancelling the rest of my trip and just go home.nShobana encouraged me to keep making magic and enjoying my holiday and so I have.nShobana is organising the compensation for me.nnHelen - you are a disgusting person and extremely unprofessional to boot in every way including manner and appearance.nnI highly recommend Omega but not from Helen in Nelson.
We booked from Australia, had lots of queries but booking proceeded smoothly. The pickup briefing was friendly, thorough and to the point. No messing around. Car was totally reliable throughout the two week rental period. This is a BIG plus!. The drop-off was pleasantly uncomplicated and efficient. No waiting here either. Already planning to be back here next year. Thank you.
