Story

The National Trade Academy Ltd offers a range of Pre Employment Training programmes for entry into the Land Based Industries. We have established our own fully equipped Agriculture Training Farm and Equestrian Centre and fully operational nursery for Horticulture and a educational animal farm park for Animal Care; facilities that allow us to provide practical training to ensure students gain a relevant qualification of their choice.

Due to the growth of the Land Based Industry sectors, especially the dairy sector, we have seen growth in demand for employees with a range of pre employment skills. We are a first point of call for many employers and it is our aim that students are assisted into a career pathway of their choice.

Using a combination of theory and practical training, we aim to provide our students with the very best opportunity to gain the skills and knowledge they require, to gain employment in their chosen field.

The certificates offered in our Agriculture, Animal Care, Horticulture and Equine courses are locally and nationally approved courses by the Tertiary Education Commission and the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA).

As the aim of our courses is to prepare students for employment in either agriculture, horticulture, animal care or equine industries much of the course content has been developed in conjunction with industry stakeholders. We ensure that all of the important entry-level aspects of the industry are covered, and that graduates are entering their chosen field as highly employable with the required skills and knowledge for a successful start to their career.
