Newton Fish and Chippery

So unbelievably rude, was completely unwilling to alter the burger slightly to make it vegetarian. I was simply asking to not put some meat in there and he started yelling and telling me that they’re not a vegetarian restaurant and is a custom order restaurant etc. He was charging $14 for a burger that was $4.50 200m down the road at 562 Takeaway! Lovely people over there with great attitude.

Sept 2022 Underdone x2 Tarakihi & Chips.. now that was delicious to eat and it wasn't burnt, will order that from now on, I have noticed that the prices have taken a hike, but so is everywhere else. 31/07/22 Went back after some time as we went through lockdown after lockdown, ordered 2 Tarakihi fish @ $6.50 each under done and x5 Potato Fritters $1.## fully cooked, I should've said both underdone, but will for next time, Fish was cooked to just right and was not dried out by fully cooking it. 4-Star April 2021 its ok if you want something quick and easy, fish of the day is expensive than the ones at Grey Lynn shops down the road, best to ask next time for underdone cooking as it was bit dry and less salt.Meat Pattie fritter was so yummy n juicy. Customer service was amazing warm & friendly. 3-Star rating.

the man seems grumpy, but he is very nice actually. the kumara chips seems burnt, but they are not burnt and so yummy actually. price up recently as everywhere else, but I still think this shop is the best fish n chips shop in the area. their deep fried food doesn't smells like ordinary fish n chips shops deep fried food.Food: 5/5

Why is this place still open? Pricing is ridiculous, it doesn't match the quality of the food or the customer service from the owner. The takeaways down the road Grey Lynn are much cheaper and the food is more quality there with friendlier staff. Coming here you will waste your time and money.Food: 1/5

best fish snapper and chips in Auckland. I have been a loyal customer for the past 10 years, never disappointed.

Quality fish & chips, shop assistant could be a little friendlier less business approach & was told by a regular customer best fish & chips in the Auckland central area, pricing ok.

$40 for tasteless seafood. Burnt kumera chips. I had one chance to grab fish and chips and choose this hopeless place.

We‘ve ordered fish & chips, steak and egg sandwiches. The fries and the fish were underseasoned. We thought when we ordered sandwiches that we get it with sauce or salad, but it was just steak on white toast for 6$ dollars without any sauce or toppings. And the egg sandwich was just an overcooked dry fried egg on toast without any sauce or toppings. If you want to grab a great sandwich go to club sandwich lunchbar down the street.

Amazing value for money. Got multiple meals out of 1 order. Thr batter is fresh and the chips delicious. Couldn't want more from a fish nd chip shop

Was craving Fish & Chips. $12 for a skinny piece of dry fish and barely a scoop of chips. Should have kept walking to another f&c place
