Petra Shawarma

This was a cute little place in the heart of Kingsland but the food was stunning. It was Jordanian taste at its best. The hummus is in-house made and to die for. Do try their pomegranate tea as well. I wish the quantity was a bit more but still was a great experience. I highly recommend.Food: 5/5

Petra Shawarma has been my top favourite places on Auckland for years and they've continued to exceed my expectations even after COVID. They are run by a beautiful Jordanian family and their food is wholesome, honest, and nourishing to the body and refreshing for the soul. Their cauliflower salad is a must everytime I go there and I would always order one per person, without failure. Trust me, you wouldn't want to share! It's that good. Ask the lovely young lady family member Bara for tea pairing with your meal. Our fav is the Jordanian sage tea. She knows the menu inside out and always welcome us with the warmest greetings and happy vibes. I see some of the comments that the food is a bit pricey but keep in mind this is a post COVID economy where everyone is struggling, and we need to come together to support local Kiwi businesses, and help out those who run an honest family restaurant in the F&B sector. Thank You Bara and Petra Shawarma for continuing to bring us great flavoursome food to the Kingsland community. Easily recommend this as one of Auckland's top 10 and great to entertaining friends and visitors. Vegetarian options: Plenty of options for vegetarian and vegan diners. Kid-friendliness: The meals are deliciously suitable for kids and plenty of healthy sweets. Parking: Adequate on street parking and also back of building.

Wow. What an amazing experience. 1 Vegan and 1 Vegetarian here. The food was so fresh, delicious with a home made touch that will definetly have us coming back for more. The customer service is so good. We were served by Rama who gave us the best recommendations which were all so delicious and exactly what she promised. We had 2 Ice Teas which are refreshing, a sweetness well balanced and not sikly sweet. The Wrap is literally perfect, crunchy on the outside and fresh in the middle. The Mixed Platter was perfect for 2 and just enough to feel satisfied. We had dessert after with a Basbousa, a Baklava and a Rose Water and Coconut Jello which seems like a lot but we wanted to try them all hehe complemented with a hot Cardamom tea of course hehe. Amazing. Simply stunning!! A family owned business full of personality, fun, atmosphere and most importantly, flavour! If you go here plan to order for the table and share, its a much better experience. The hummus and baba Ganoosh were both amazing and i was delightfully surprised by the sweetness of the Fattoush salad dish. The Arais are also a must try! Another thing is their honey milk tea which is not on the menu but im sure they will make it for you if you ask, Perfect to end the meal if you aren’t to full. Unfortunately I didn’t get great photos of everything as I was so busy eating and chatting. This place is a must try if you are in Auckland.

Undoubtedly a 5 star experience with full credits to the food and hospitality. This was one of the tastiest meals I have eaten in Auckland. The babaganoush was excellent, smoky, creamy and tangy with fresh pita. A fave was the Petra Shaw dish, deliciously vegan, I as an omnivore very much enjoyed the falafel, hummus and bean side dish, perfect textures and seasoning. There is clearly a lot of thought and recipe development put into everything on the menu, from the teas to the mains. A charming family-run business, with high quality food. Although some reviews say the price is high, the amount of preparation in these dishes and the excellent outcome make it totally worth its price.

First time at this place and I love it! Service is amazing and the food is to die for! I had falafel on rice, kunafa, Arabic tea and coffee, it was so delicious! Would love to visit again! Plenty of Vegan and vegetarian options available

I really was feeling a shawarma and was looking for the best in Auckland, after reading the reviews I decided to order from here and get it delivered by deliveroo, service was swift and the food arrived hot, I was so looking forward to this once it arrived I was pleasantly surprised how good the food was, it was delicious. I highly recommend this establishment, top quality food. Dietary restrictions: All the food here is halal.

We ordered takeaway, the mains portion was smaller than expected and looking at the price but good flavours. Tad overpriced. The baklava was very disappointing. $9 for one piece - made with pistachio essence - got 2 small pieces of pistachio all up. If you cannot make the real deal, refrain from making & selling it.Food: 3/5
