I recently had a very disappointing experience at this supermarket due to the poor customer service. The staff were unfriendly, unhelpful, and seemed uninterested in assisting customers. When I asked for help finding a product, I was met with a rude attitude and no effort to provide assistance.nnAs a customer, I expect to be treated with respect and courtesy. Unfortunately, this experience fell well below that standard. Good customer service is just as important as having a well-stocked store, and I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and provides better training for their staff.nnI won't be returning unless I see significant improvements in the way customers are treated.
I went shopping the other night with my wife and our 11-year-old daughter. At checkout, while purchasing a few cans of beer, the cashier named Emma demanded ID from all of us. I provided mine, but my wife only had a photo, which Emma flatly refused, insisting on a physical ID.nI understand age verification for alcohol purchases. What I don’t understand is the complete absence of basic human judgment. Does Emma genuinely believe that two adults shopping with an 11-year-old child could possibly be underage? Has she never seen a family before? Or does she think people start having children at age seven? The sheer absurdity is almost impressive.nUnable to reason with her, I was forced to return the beer, leave the line, and repurchase it at another register. All of this for a few cans of beer — not narcotics, not weapons, just beer.nIt’s pathetic how some people wield the tiniest scrap of authority like a weapon, deriving obvious satisfaction from inconveniencing others. I’m not sure if Emma simply lacks common sense or if she has a particular issue with Asian faces, but the experience left a distinctly sour taste. I prefer not to assume racism, but the thought inevitably crosses the mind.nManagement should seriously consider training their staff to apply rules with a functioning brain attached, not just robotic enforcement that punishes normal customers. Extremely disappointing and frankly ridiculous.
Prices are compatible to other local supermarkets, but service is superb . It feels like how supermarkets used to treat customers, they actually help you at the counter. Possibly because they use older staff who understand how important it is .nThank you for bringing back this culture. Parking is reasonable, trollys have a immobilizer to prevent thefts.
A well designed supermarket, with a modern look and dedicated bulk spices section. Staff members are friendly, attentive, accommodating, and helpful; especially the lady at the seafood counter. Parking usually is available despite that it's a shared shopping area. Prices are a bit expensive compared to other supermarkets. Stocks are improving although now have less of unique items than it used to.
I went in this morning to buy some lunch before work and I got a “cheese and pesto ciabatta“ I then went to the self checkout as I was in a rush. While trying to find the “cheese and pesto ciabatta“ I typed in cheese and it didn’t come up, I typed in pesto and it didn’t come up, I typed in cheese and pesto and it didn’t come up, so I eventually typed in ciabatta and “ciabatta bread” came up I clicked on that. But then a worker came over to me suddenly she wasn’t distracted staring out the window like she was when I tried to get her attention to help me find the item and very rudely told me that I had chosen the wrong item and she typed in pizza bread, because apparently the item labeled “cheese and pesto ciabatta“ is actually pizza bread. The employee was extremely rude despite it being a system issue in my opinion. Overall it was a really negative experience due to the extremely rude staff. New World either label things properly or find staff that will be friendly when helping correct an issue that is not at all a customers fault.
