New World

Whilst a little more expensive, the quality and variety of meat, fish and produce is very good. Service is usually very good, though I wish they had more staff on checkouts. The owners are good about getting stuff in if they don't have it. Recently they added a new section for gourmet meat I am a fan of. The place is always clean and shelves are almost always full.

6th January 2023 between 5pm and 8pm ..... the store smelt of stale urine. Was enough to make us gag. Section of fridge that housed the blocks of mainland cheese wasn't working and the cheese were warm to touch, hotter than room temperature. Informed a shelf packer who was most helpful and went and got someone straightaway. However, bitterly disappointed few minutes later when I observed a Indian female manager came along, touch some of the blocks of cheese, shrug an walk off. In my lengthy time at the store I never observed the cheese being removed.

The thing that sets new world apart from the uninspired countdown supermarkets is the items on offer at the deli section, and this cranberry chicken roll did not disappoint. The hot deli food is also delicious.

If you want groceries and produce, its a good if not marginally better place than the competitors, BUT STAY AWAY FROM THE HIRAGE OF THE RUG CLEANING EQUIPMENT. They decided to hang on to my bond despite the hand cleaning tool whose RUBBER hose snapped at the neck. My best guess was it was brittle at where it broke. 1 look at me and Im not strong enough to snap something like that yet got told that these hand tools were new and have no way of snapping. Proceed with hirage with caution...OR dont if you have that much disposable income

The best part about this place us the billing counter where you don't need to wait un the queue rather do the billing yourself. Every section is so well organized and even have hoarding on top stating the sections in each column.

It's nicely organized, prices not as high as I heard. I visited in the evening and it wasn't crowded. Most of all I found a few new things here

Fresh looking New World supermarket located in Mt Roskill, the size is actually bigger than most of the New World in town. Sections are well divided, easy to find your food stuff. And the staffs are quite friendly and helpful when asked direction to some certain products. Price wise really depends on the products you are after, a bit more expensive but within the acceptable range.

Staff here needs a lot of training. Especially when the young girls are talking about personal business out loud so customers could hear. No one wants to hear your best mate sleeping with someone elses boyfriend. Owner needs to work on their staff.

Good supermarket to shop at. Plenty of parking. But beware if you are buying food from the Bakery area. I bought 2 packs of donuts and later thar same evening, my sisters opened them and the donuts had mold on it! The best before date wasn't due til 4 days later!! We weren't very happy. Had to bin them. It was a super rainy night and I couldn't be bothered taking them back in-store to let staff know and get a refund. ALSO pay attention to the prices when it comes up on the screen before you pay for your shopping because the workers there at the checkout overcharge you for certain items and sometimes manually enter in the wrong items/products. I advise to always check your receipt before leaving. I have had to get refunds because of this. Despite this, I rate 4 stars as its a really good supermarket and my favourite new world in Auckland.
