You can get whole wheat and multigrain bread. But the drawback we get only selective grocery which belongs to the country itself. If it can include the grocery from other countries so that other migrants can also take it then it would definitely deserve 5 star. The ice cream section is amazing though
This is a large format store that services Hillsborough, Mt Roskill South through to Blockhouse Bay as it has the liquor license. However as other reviewers have said, the stock level is very badly managed, to a degree you will not get all of your items in this store. The staff seems unhappy too, I was there on a Monday night, they only had two staff at the checkout one manages the self-checkouts, the other is doing a manned checkout, both of them looked overwhelmed and stressed out to the max. Of course there was no customer service, no “helllo how are you how was your day”, just frantic madness. I’m not sure why I still shop there, I think I will go to NW next time.
It’s organized place and have many facilities rather than countdown only, also some takeaways shops NZ post office, kiwi bank and others Plenty of parking on the front and ont he side of the building Also it’s near to KFC , wendays and Pizza Hut front of it there is a park.
Standard Countdown and the staff were friendly and the staff we bought were cold and fresh as they should be.
The last 2 times I have brought things with the wrong labelling. Only realised once we have got home. Called the store and they confirmed the mistake but staff where unfriendly and unable to bank transfer the difference. Spoke to different people everytime and unapologetic. Didn’t supply an email contact, left on hold and promised a call back and didn’t receive one. Out of pocket and time when it was confirmed false advertising. Check your receipts. Take photos of specials if you choose to shop y here. Total nightmare. Deserves no stars but wouldn’t let me post.
Stock levels are pretty hit and miss compared to other stores that haven't got the same issue, often have very few checkouts open which takes ages, never seem to bother packing bags anymore even though they have never reduced their prices to account for the reduced service
Terrible customer service especially from shift supervisors. If it wasn’t because of collecting Countdown Bricks Farm, I would have gone back to Pak n Save, with better service and cheaper. A few interactions with the team in the last month has really put me off from shopping in Countdown Lynfield, I asked a team member a team member working around the wine section about large order of red wines, without asking anymore questions, giving me the impression she just wants to get rid of me and told me to approach customer service and storm off. Another occasion at check out, a presumably new check out staff member ask his supervisor for help when he cannot locate one of the produce prices, his supervisor rudely and loudly yell at him “you should just ask the customer how much it is!” I found that very rude, lack of product knowledge and lazy for a supervisor, she could have just walked literally 90secs to the produce isle and come back with the price, help her team member out and provide constructive feedback more appropriately. Tonight’s interaction with two team members really made me not want to return, we went grocery shopping at 8:30pm, all the checkout counters were closed, I assumed we have to use self check out around this time due to lean staffing, there was a woman manning the self check out, she saw I had a lot of groceries, she did not offer to open the checkout counter, as I scan my own item and the area no longer can hold a lot of groceries and I kept getting “get staff help” on the system, the supervisor came and told me off for using self check out with over 25 items, I said to her that all counters are closed with the grocery separator indicating it was close and no one at any counter despite decent amount of customer still shopping. Instead of helping she huff and puffed off and the one manning the checkout till just stood there idle and definitely needs customer service training on situational awareness, common sense customer service and assist customers proactively! When I asked the woman that was manning the checkout counter for my 26 bricks, she just threw half in the trolley and half on fold down toddler seat of the trolley! Countdown charges premium for groceries and the service made Pak n save looked like they provide premium service! Even if countdown introduce another bricks collection, I won’t bother, not worth being treated so rudely by the staff!
There is a no health and safety over in store around 9 pm staff are pulling heavy pallets by them selfs. Is very dangerous for the staff and around customers. Stop doing this guys not safe for any one. Specially I can't come with my kids ! I might go to health and safety department too about that.
A good countdown. Good staff and prices for beers. They always seem to be low on BBQ Doritos thought :/
Can't pay for ibuprofen at the checkout, even though you can at any other supermarket... Discount monitoring what you buy card decided to be inactive... Just go to pak n save, it's cheaper, the range is better and they don't track your purchases.
