Today I walked from the Mackenzie Track to Muritai Park in Eastbourne in the cloudy weather. I’ve explored almost every bush track in this area around eastern harbour forests, and each one has its own unique charm.nnAlong the way, I saw many beautiful kānuka trees, whose soft, delicate leaves form light green tunnels over the path. The whole track is gently paved with gravel, making it an easy and relaxing walk — perfect for thinking, doing some research, or even answering emails in nature. It truly feels like having an office in the forest, surrounded by calm energy and birdsong.
Good uphill on Kāeaea track then down Muritai
This is the Muritai Park entrance to the Kaeaea and Muritai tracks that lead up to the Eastbourne view point at the Kaeaea Track summit on the ridge above Eastbourne.nnThe entrance can be found by a yellow sign on a power pole on the road. The tracks here lead to the Butterfly creek and McKenzie Road tracks along the ridge line above Eastbourne.
Pretty steep. You get high quickly.nNice track to walk not slippery but is steep.nGreat track overall.
Very nice walk. It goes all the way the hill via two different tracks: walking and tramping. Both easy. From the top you can go back to McKenzie rd or down in butterfly creek valley.
