Miss Moonshine's

Turned up for dessert and a cocktail and was presently surprised. A welcoming restaurant with an almost homely feel A after being welcomed in at 9pm at night. The Creme Brulee did not disappoint and the dessert cocktails were something different. This is a worthy contender to try for a night cap or something sweet. Their full menu looked delicious we might have to go and try that next time.

First visit since the relocation from Ponsonby and these guys still have it for sure! Food was on point and cooked to perfection as usual and staff were amazing. Well done team, will be back for sure!

it's the man of the house birthday and it's 107days after lockdown then, traffic light system is in effect - so! We are allowed to dine out of course with ur covid pass, hooray!.... and obviously the celebrant suggested Miss Moonshine, a 45min to an hour drive from where we live on an easy road traffic condition. Anyways, our first time to dine here... place is quite and clean. Staff is attentive & friendly always a+Food is good, meat tasty and falling off the bone. Desserts good too, I specially like the brownie. So all in all, It's worth the drive all the way.

Considering the hefty price of each plate, the quality of food, service and overall ambience just doesn’t deliver. The $20 “jumbo” wings only came with 4 whole skinny wings and just tasted like the Franks sauce you can buy at the supermarket, accompanied with a very watered down “home made” ranch sauce. I would have preferred the wings from KFC up the street and would have got considerably more bang for my back. We came here for the Jalapeño poppers as they are hard to find in the area, and while they were delicious, they were rather on the small side and not worth the $17 price tag. Our pint of beer wasn’t full and my cocktail tasted like rum with apple juice. In total I paid $65 for 2 drinks and 2 starters and left with regret spending that much for an average and underwhelming afternoon snack. I’m disappointed as it’s not the Miss Moonshines I remember from 5 years ago in Ponsonby and I would rather travel over the bridge for better food than eat here again

Wow what an amazing food experience! I'm in a current state of food coma! we had Buffalo wings, sliders, mac n cheese bites, chicken, pork ribs and loaded fries. can't fault any of it, the meats were well seasoned, spiced, rubbed and slow smoked in the pit, even the loaded fries were the best I've ever had. staff were super friendly and showed me the smoker and the chef was on hand to answer my questions. Can't wait to recover from my coma and go back for more!

Our family recently had the pleasure of visiting Miss Moonshines for the first time and I must say, we were thoroughly impressed! From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by the friendly staff. Shirley, our server, was amazing and really went above and beyond! She really took to our son and daughter who want to go back just to see her! The food was simply fantastic! Every dish we tried was bursting with flavor and perfectly cooked. Big fan of the sausage! We can't wait to come back and try more of their delicious food. Thanks for a wonderful experience! Kid-friendliness: Shirley was absolutely amazing with the children and even made a wee little mocktail for them when he told our kids they couldn’t try ours

This is a great place to dine. We had lunch there today. Shared the brisket with pickles and sauces, coleslaw and kumara. It was plenty for two. Absolutely Delicious. Service was very friendly and professional and fun. Highly recommend.Food: 5/5

Ordered the 2 person platter, half rack of ribs and beer battered fries. The 2 person platter was quite overpriced in our opinion, only giving barely over 200g of meat per person for the price of $33.5 per person. Everything on the platter tasted pretty nice but wouldn’t consider it overly filling. The rack of ribs were sadly pretty average, the bbq sauce wasn’t anything special. The fries were also pretty average to be honest. The service was lovely though.

Spectacular service and delicious food. Booked the entire restaurant for my sons 21st birthday,29.3.23..Dicky,from the getgo was diligent n understanding with getting all our orders organised. Working with him was a smooth sailing endeavour. Dicky and his staff did an amazing job with serving over 40 of us,meals and beverages. They were cool calm and collected throughout the entire night. Waiting times were not an issue and i commend Dicky and his 1 other chef,team of 2,for the amazing service with the food. Nothing short of AMAZING!!!Will definitely be going back.

Food is decent, however portion sizes are outrageous for the price. We ordered on Uber eats, loaded fries came in a tiny square boxabout 20 fries for $24!!!! Absolutely disgusting and a huge scam to be honest. Again, the food isn’t bad but the prices for what you get is a huge scam.
