Absolutely lovely experience, delicious tender beef and chicken, nice drinks, friendly staff and great atmosphere to spend a rainy Sunday. My recommendation to elevate the Sunday roast plate is: it would be great if you serve one medium size carrot and one medium size parsnip instead of one large carrot and a bit more chopped cabbage for each serving. Many thanks. Kind regards. T.
Great place- lovely decor, atmosphere and range of draught beer. Writing for a big massive shout out and thank you to Sean! Friendly, great knowledge of the range of ales, and his watchful eye over my belongings saved my life - best kind of human- thank you!!! Making it a safe place to be, also. Will definitely come back.
Went on Sunday 11/6 and sat down by the window at ground floor. Had a really nice view to people watch the busy Petticoat Lane. Ambience is great and staff were friendly but I don’t think the Sunday roast was to my liking. My bf enjoyed it but the gravy ? was water thin and the Yorkshire pudding was only so-so. But the potatoes were very nice and the roast was ok too. Cauliflower cheese was a bit bland but tasted better after salt & pepper. Loved the mango sorbet. Didn’t order any drinks. Would come again to try the restaurant on the 1st floor!
First Sunday Roast in London, the starter was very good, especially the kind of mashed potatoes. The poichiche wasn't very tasteful unfortunately. Overall, the dish is well presented and fine. As for the main dish: Roast Beef The beef was OK, good crispy stuff, carrot OK, caramelized onion not too bad. Quite a long wait between the starter and the main course but there are a lot of people. Quite pricey but good service.
Beautiful setting for daytime drinks, lunch or Sunday roast. Love coming here during the day because of the big windows and plants, nice even on a grey rainy day. Staff are so friendly. Recently went there on my own waiting for a friend and was well looked after by Sean. Highly reccomend !Service: 5/5
I was lucky enough to dine at the culpeper and it's one of the best experiences I've had in London. Both food and service impeccable. So nice to be greeted by Sophie at the door who started off the evening perfectly. Cant wait to dine there again soon and eat some amazing food.Rooms: 5/5
We went for the roof top set menu and we really enjoyed it. The athmosphere is very relaxing with plants around you and the food was very healthy. Staff also was really friendly and accomodating. The area around the restaurant is not great but the rooftop was a nice discovery.Service: 4/5
Amazing service Nell especially lovely!, three floors, cool little roof garden and the best toffee pudding I've ever had! Yes...ever! Downside, not enough greens on the roast plus had to order the ice cream as extra! Keep it up guys and well done x
Waiters and bartenders have a bad attitude. The upstairs roof was half empty on a lovely sunny day and they didn’t allow anyone to grab a drink because “the kitchen is closed until 5pm” and it seemed they kept searching for excuses. The place itself is nice but overall experience was a bit ruined by staff attitude
Had a great dinner this evening as a walk in and was lucky to get a table in the first-floor restaurant. No wonder the place is busy. The food, drinks and service are exceptional. I started with a poached pear salad with endive, walnuts and Gorgonzola. Fabulous. Thanks Roque for the recommendation. Jordan paired my cassoulet main with a great red from the Loire. Again, unbeatable. Thanks. Roger xx
