Average pie, big chunks of meat and chicken. We had beef pie and cream chicken. Best to enjoy it fresh.nnThe staff were not welcoming at all. Cute decor.
They had some interesting pies available and even though it was expensive at $8.50 a pie, I decided to fork out the money to see what it's about. Quality's a bit of hit and miss. The venison and plum pie had only the faintest hint of plum sauce and the meat wasn't tender or juicy, just not much flavour to it. The lamb and mint pie was heaps better. So it gets 4 stars
BEST PIE ever had! Look at these massive chunks of meat instead of sad gravy which you find in other pies!!! Happy I had this as my first meal after finishing my 4 days hike!nnThey didn’t have almond milk which given Christmas day, wasn’t an issue
The venison and plum sauce was SO good we had more than 3 servings of it amongst 7pax. Heck, for the 1 night in Te Anau, we bought Miles Pies twice and then once again for the road before Doubtful sound! As seen, filling is packed to the crusts. Unfortunately it was raining and cold on the days when we bought them, so we decided to take it back to accoms to have them. It is as good as advertised.
