Melt Bar

I don't want to discredit them bc they were really nice people, but it was two of the little things that impacted my experience. I walked up, read the main printed menu above the counter, and ordered the Buffalo Bill which said meatballs, mozzerella, and pasta sauce. However, this menu didn't mention it being an bowl of the three with two slices of crispy cheese bread in it; I had been picturing an actual grilled cheese sandwich. Upon looking at the table menus instead, that mentioned being open faced, but it's not a sandwich. I liked the taste, but wasn't what I was hoping for. The other thing was maybe bad luck, but the draft beer taps were all coming out so foamy, requiring multiple pours, that the beer tasted flat. They do have some bottles of beer and cider at least so we switched to those.

Fantastic little gem in Ponsonby, the staff are so welcoming and friendly and the food is out of this world. I must mention Tara and Nick, service is a big part of the expirience and we were more than well looked after. Highly recommend this wonderful place!

Great bar in the cosy, funky heart of Ponsonby Central, and they serve creamy, home style ice-cream with more than just your average flavours.

Best croque monsieur I've ever had and I've had a lot. Good friendly service. I shall return.

If only my ice cream didn’t melt it would’ve gone straight to the pool room.
