It’s such a lovely and beautiful place. The one bedroom apartment we booked is well equipped and very clean and spacious with nice view. Comfortable bed and bedding. Love the decor and the balcony area for coffee time. Great location with easy access to the beach and a nice Italian restaurant next door. Loryn is helpful with the checkin process. Just be noted that there is no lift inside the building. To the price, it’s well worth the stay. Recommended
Cosy apartment with everything you need. 2 minute walk to St Clair beach and restaurants. Less than 10 minute walk to convenience store. Bus stop to Dunedin is a 1 min walk. Very accessible drive to Otaga peninsula. Free on-site laundry facility is a plus. Good base to explore the area. As there is no on-site reception desk, it is essential you text/call the property manager with ETA so you are met and given door access codes.
Majestic Mansions is a lovely, renovated heritage building, full of charm, but it’s an old building and as such does not have an elevator or central heating. They also don’t have an attendant or manager on site, so it’s impersonal. The view from our top floor room was beautiful, and the sound of crashing waves exactly what we’d hoped for. The rooms are quaint and nicely decorated. The parking garages are underneath the front of the building and they are a tight fit for a mid/large car, though there is street parking. We had a small kitchen with fridge, microwave and tea/coffee facilities in our suite/apartment. The bathroom was serviceable, but was a wet room with shower curtain, so the whole floor gets wet and needs to be squeegeed dry after every use. There’s a small set of movable shelves in there that we had to move to the basin area to have somewhere to put our toiletries on. The location is excellent, across from the promenade and a short walk to the beach and salt pool. There’s a number of restaurants a very short walk away, they were all busy during our visit!
Amazing apartment right on the beach. Best place I've stayed in Dunedin. Loved the historic building with beautiful décor. The apartment had a separate bedroom, well equipped kitchen, bathroom, living room and balcony. Parking on site. Heaps of restaurants and cafes and of course a lovely beach right on your doorstep. Tried to book again but is was booked out, so get in quick as there are only a few apartments. Love Love Love.
Classy, clean and comfortable. Also quite old school From the light switches to the window fixtures this place is anachronistically vintage. Lauren, the owner manager? is quite well traveled and intersecting to talk with. The place is right next to the beach and some rooms have a great view of the surfers trying to catch waves below.
