Currently booked in from 18-20.3 and it’s been a nightmare so far.nnThe shared rooms are overly hot with a weird heating system. Although you have your own fan in the pod it is way too warm and there is no decent air quality in the pod.nnIt is loud, people are not very considerate and the doors shut so loudly that it’s impossible to get a decent sleep.nnI have stayed in another hostel across the road to an Irish bar here in Queenstown and there you get better value for the same money or less.nnThe kitchen here is way too small, it’s crowded. Not enough cooking space on level 1.nnOnly 3toilets and a couple showers for ladies on level 1 + 2 +4. Definitely not enough for the amount of guests staying, it’s not very clean. Although they offer a dryer and straightener.nnThe storage space in the rooms are big enough for a big bag pack and you can also leave your stuff in a secured locker room.nnI cannot recommend and won’t be staying a second night if I can avoid it.
Pros:n- Good location close to townn- Pods have charging points and light/ fan and black out curtain which make it feel more private/ your own spacen- bathrooms pretty good and generally pretty cleannnCons:n- the girl that checked me in was lovely and helpful didn’t remember her name- but shaved head and very cool vibe! but the other two girls on reception I found pretty unhelpful and rude. Particularly blonde girl with curly hair. Was super patronising to me when I asked for an extra token because the dryer hadn’t dried my laundry properly. She was also rude when checking out, spoke to me like I was stupid because my name was spelt incorrectly.n- pods were hot and fan pretty useless, no windows in the roomsn- kitchen small and often dirty. I know they have plans to build a bigger kitchen on the top floor.n- rooms were pretty noisy, doors were loud and people generally quite inconsiderate. Maybe some posters around this could help with awarenessnnIn summary I think you could stay somewhere locally with better facilities for the same price if not less. But the privacy of the pods was a bonus. Plus they say “helpful” staff but I found most of them patronising and rude. I won’t be staying again!
I really enjoyed my stay, I stayed in a room in a single pod with 6 mixed pods for every gender. It’s in the middle of the center of Queenstown, you can’t think of a better location! My stay was 2 nights and I really enjoyed it. There was enough privacy and I would book LyLo again
Great affordable budget accommodation for a short stay in Queenstown. We had a queen room which was clean and functional. The hot water was temperamental and the street noise requires ear plugs all night but we were generally happy with our stay. The staff were welcoming and helpful too.
Locations is truly prime for this Lylo Queenstown, weakness is the cleanliness of the kitchen area, lot of my tourist guest always protested how it is quiet unclean and have the utensil is already quite old. Also the room itself is truly small, even for 2 people opening their baggages they need to jump in-between baggages to walk around. Plus point , The view is amazing on the common room and they have lot of games there, walking to the lakes is peace of cake and it's worth for a short stay
