LyLo Queenstown

We stayed in a compact private queen room with an attached bathroom, which is okay for a short 2-night stay for two people. The room served its purpose for rest and getting ready to explore. The hotel also offers luggage storage option after checkout which is an added advantage. However, the centralized air conditioning was a drawback, requiring us to ask staff to adjust the temperature whenever it got too hot. Overall, it was a decent stay.

Distance wise, it’s great, near everything you need in Queenstown, staff is also friendly, I love the bartender in Lucy’s. My main problem is with the pods themselves; they’re spacious but broken; handrail was broken, I don’t think my pod was cleaned when I got in, the air conditioner is loud and doesn’t cool the pod, everything seems shaky and rough, especially for its price.

Sadly miles away quality wise from the the one in Auckland. Haven't been in a hostel this dirty in a while especially at this price point. There is labled stuff in the fridge that is 2 months old.. super disgusting and the kitchen in general is an absolut mess all the time.nThe pods are nice and pretty spacious and comfortable. But I just don't get why they can't add a labeled hanger to each pod for your towel. Random hangers all over the place in the rooms with no clear system.. Otherwise location is perfect and the hangout area is nice too.

The service we received at LyLo was absolutely outstanding and second to none! After being left high and dry following a late night flight cancellation, and with almost all accommodation booked out due to multiple flight cancellations the same evening, we contacted Lylo amidst a desperate search for accommodation. Initially staff at LyLo did not have availability for us however offered to call around to hostels/hotels to aid us in our accomodation search. Thankfully two capsules came up in a shared dorm at LyLo. As this was my first pod hostel experience I wasn’t sure what to expect, however the dorm was well set out, albeit a touch noisy nothing a pair of earplugs wouldn’t fix!. The capsule itself was comfortable and private. Each capsule had a storage locker which was adequate to store my two bags with ease. The bathrooms and communal areas were tidy with all facilities functioning appropriately. What really made our stay was the staff!! The staff we came into contact with were just incredible, they all went above and beyond to ensure that our [very unplanned, very last minute] stay was a positive and enjoyable experience. Excellent facility, prices and staff. Located right in the heart of Queenstown. Would absolutely recommend.

Location is really really ideal, the pods were much more comfortable than I thought they might be and the facilities were all very good. The kitchenette is also surprisingly decked out, but having only 1 for the whole building meant it was often quite busy.nLocation for catching the ski bus was extremely convenient though
