Terrible for watching scheduled cricket game on a hot windy day. No trees for shelter. For some strange reason there are big shady trees planted on the footpath on the other side of the fence. Some grass there very rough and looked like it had been sprayed. Nice there is a park there but stupid there are spindly underwatered trees at the side of the park and giant shady ones on the foot path. Absolutely terrible on a 30 degree day!
Awesome park with a fantastic history. We dropped my daughter here for an event and were so surprised to see such a beautiful park in the middle of the city.
I have been so impressed with this park. It was so sad to lose our main rugby and cricket venue in Christchurch from our terrible earthquake in 2011, but to see the park change so beautifully into what it is now is amazing. Great work, everyone.
Disappointed, no changing rooms for players & no toilets for players & supporters. Still believe the rugby stadium should have been built there again, so much easier for parking etc. The government of the time made a huge mistake & we in Christchurch would have had our stadium back years ago, without the huge costs :
Went to the opening today and it was really fantastic
