Lancaster Park's transformation is breathtaking! The lush green space and stunning memorial entrance evoke memories of the past. A fitting tribute to the iconic stadium.nnAnd, of course, a shout-out to the mighty All Blacks! #LancasterPark #Christchurch #AllBlacks #RugbyNation #GreenSpace #Memorial
The transformation from stadium to local park has been wonderfully done. It's a great spot to check out local sport or have a walk and remember the legacy of Lancaster as Christchurch's stadium. The memorial gates evoke the bygone era and are a masterfully preserved monument.
Haven't been there since the earthquakes.. was pleasantly surprised. Great history boards by the gates... well worth a visit
Terrible for watching scheduled cricket game on a hot windy day. No trees for shelter. For some strange reason there are big shady trees planted on the footpath on the other side of the fence. Some grass there very rough and looked like it had been sprayed. Nice there is a park there but stupid there are spindly underwatered trees at the side of the park and giant shady ones on the foot path. Absolutely terrible on a 30 degree day!
It is very cool to see the history of the area of the old stadium. It's a very cool place to have a small walk.
