See also Hagley Park South Paved pathway around the perimeter of both North and South sections and through the middle. The two sections of the park, divided by Riccarton Avenue. The North park includes Christchurch Botanic Gardens and Curator’s House Restaurant/Café. Much of the path is lined by trees. The perimeter path, being surrounded by busy roads, can be loud. There is a toilet block on the west side, near Riccarton Road. A few water fountains are installed around the park. On the east side of the North park are wooden stations for particular exercises.
Best place to take walks on. Very spacious park and has been a part of Christchurch’s identity as the Garden City. Plenty of spaces to take walks and jogs on. Beautifully carved and is clean every time, so you can see how well it’s been taken care of and how disciplined everyone visiting is. Christchurch truly is beautiful and Hagley Park adds to that!
I had a quick stay in the town center of Christchurch. Hagley Park was a couple of blocks from the hotel. I decided to check it out since it was recommended by the cab driver. What a treat. It is beautiful and large. I spent the afternoon walking around before dinner. Definitely worth checking out.
This is one of the most beautiful parks I have ever visited in my life. There are so many beautiful trees and flowers everywhere. The lake has ducks and geese. The playground is so beautiful and exclusive to all types of children. I wish we had this back home in the United States. I honestly felt like I was in a fairytale.
INCREDIBLE in Autumn, wow! a lovely place to delight your eyes as you walk through rows of reddening trees, all the more magical as the sun is setting. Many people and cyclists on the track, but still had space to skate through and make a few rounds. Thoroughly enjoyed myself. Free street parking is tricky during peak periods, and paid parking lots can also get full.
