It was a great place to take the grandchildren in the holidays. They had a mobile library day with games and activities for the children.nThe bird sanctuary and bush walks are great for all ages and abilities.

This compound is so beautiful. There are many good houses, with gardens, trees, flowers. The bush on Sat morning is a farmer market where the local come to buy good, organic stuff or have breakfast, coffee. I like the comminity supporting local business. People are friendly.

Beautiful place with a calming atmosphere. Would have no idea you are in a big city once you are on the walking track. Very well maintained track for all ages.  The markets on Sat morning are a big must! Fresh veges, flowers, breads,  meat and many more plus a good number of hot food options

Riccarton Bush gives You the adventure feeling of a jungle tour, an extraordinary expierience when You think You are in the middle of a city...nnI highly recommend a guided tour through the Riccarton House. It is done by John Hoskin. He was born in 1937 ! and is such an honorous person who combines fantastic knowledges with a brilliant sense of humor, so that is an absolut pleasure to follow his words and get part of the journy to the past and learn about the historic and familiary background.nnIn combination with the friendly cafe with the good tasting offers we had a perfect day.nnThank You very much.

Lovely Historic Place to visit for a Meal/Drink and take in the great view.You can take a Walk around the grounds too
