Lake Taupo is recognised as a world class rainbow trout fishery and is considered to be one of the best! It is also one of the last wild trout fisheries left in the world. While fishing taupo aboard our luxury launches, you will be fully enclosed to ensure you stay warm and dry no matter what the weather conditions. We also only catch trout in calm waters for passenger comfort. All top quality fishing tackle is supplied and we offer complimentary tea and coffee. Our larger launches have fully equipped galleys so you are very welcome to bring you own food and beverages aboard or we can arrange catered meals for you.

When catching trout on your private charter boat we offer all methods of trout fishing to suit the conditions and time of year. They include harling, downriggers and jigging.

Your catch of trout will be cleaned and bagged for you to take home or we can arrange to have them professionally smoked and vacuum packed. We can also make recommendations on where you can take your trout to one of the many restaurants in Taupo that will cook them for you.


Your Skipper Dan Basse

Dan was raised in Taupo, and at the age of 16 became one of the youngest Charter boat skippers on Lake Taupo. He has been fishing and catching trout while operating fishing charter boats, jet skis and watersports on Lake Taupo for over 19 years now.

He prides himself in his professional and friendly manner, and in ensuring that you have a very memorable and enjoyable trout fishing experience on beautiful Lake Taupo.
