I went to Katsura for Christmas Eve dinner. It was an overall well-organized seafood buffet. I just found several minor things that would be better if they could develop, for example, quantity of rice for one piece of sushi, freshness of oysters, information about 2 hours free parking, and I noticed that they barely pick up the phone calls during their working hours maybe they are struggling with less staff. Except that, they offered quite a good value for a variety of food. Also, the service of the team was excellent. I appreciated their hard work during meal time. Thanks! There were many options, and the seafood/ sashimi were all reasonably fresh. Pleasant , courteous staff. Tonight wasn't that packed which was great. I had higher expectations for the $105 price tag, but overall, it represented pretty good value.
The seafood was fresh and had quite a lot of options. The most impressive part was actually the quality of service from staff members. They were very friendly and nice. It was a bit pricey for the value but seems to be a nice place to visit on a special occasion. Hope they keep up with the same service level.
Katsura Japanese Seafood Buffet is an awesome experience and they have plenty of variety on offer. From sashimi, oysters, scampi, prawns, teppanyaki, sushi, noodles, tempura, desserts and lots more. Best to book online early and it's very limited spaces. 2 hours time limit apples for each sitting. 2 hours free parking in the hotel car park is available, just tell them your registration plate when paying. $5 per hour thereafter.
Food was just amazing. Very fresh seafood you can have here. Atmosphere was good too. Regarding the service, one of the waiter was very rushing and tried to take our plates. When they were cleaning a table, just loud. Asked chef to cook meat well-done but he cooked medium rare twice. One of the chef wasn't friendly. The lady at the cashier was friendly. Parking: If you are dine in, you will get 2h free parking. However, buffet is 2h so you need to leave early if you don't want to pay extra. Little queue for the payment. If you want to go toilet before leave etc..
We ordered from ala cart menu - Omakase set. The atmosphere was great, food was tasty and fresh and staffs were very friendly!! Had a great time with friends and will definitely be coming back here with my family and friends!! Highly recommend this place for a weekend or a weekday when you need some great food to lift you up!! Very nice restaurant with an intimate atmosphere and elegant Japanese dishes. We were a day too early for the seafood buffet but dinner was superb and service was excellent.
Buffet seafood such as shashimi and oysters were average, not as fresh and good quality as other Japanese restaurants. Scampis were relatively fresh and tasty. Enjoyed the teppanyaki and steamed egg bowls!
visited at 10th June 2022, a pretty good Japanese restaurant buffet, fresh fish, sushi, and tempura, 98 NZD per person. They also offered cold/hot water and green tea bag for free. Finding a car park is not easy near by the location.
Free parking for 2 hours. Located right in the middle of cbd. Gorgeous hotel that leads through the atrium and upstairs to Katsura. Doors closed until the start of the seating time. Fantastic welcome and service from start to finish. 3 gorgeous seating areas catering to intimate, group and larger groups easily. Gorgeous decor and lighting which create a lovely atmosphere. Food, food and more amazing food!!! Beautifully laid out, catching the eye and teasing the tastebuds!!! Attention to consistent topping up of all food areas. Great service in keeping tables cleared of used plates and waste, making the experience feel so much lighter. Everything tasted amazing and hubby loved the ice cream that was bought personally to each patron. The sakē creme brulee are an epiphany moment!!!!! Well worth the price!!!!!!
Great selections of fresh seafood , love the dessert bar, teppanyaki section is compliment to the chef who cooked them Perfectly Sushi ok, hot food section ok . Our waiter on this visit was great Other staff = average A little but gloomy , I can see some cleaning products on the dining area Hot food section looking a bit too dark
