We had a fantastic night watching Top Gun at Berkeley Mission Bay. Being winter it was super cold outside and nice and warm when we got inside, the lady who served us was super friendly and the popcorn was hot and fresh. This is a fantastic, perfectly sized, cinema on the front of Mission bay. There are 4 screens that hold about 40 to 50 people each. The seats are big and comfortable with plenty of leg room. Booster seats are available for small kids, check the front underneath the screen. This is a child friendly complex. There is a well stocked sweet, drinks, and popcorn selection at the front desk, along with an adult selection of beers & wines. This really is a great cinema, which is well priced for NZ. Top tip here, join Hoyts rewards and get discounts off selected films and times. Get in early and you're pretty much guaranteed a cinema almost to yourself.
Over priced snack bar. The disabled toilets are so hard to get into. Have been before but now going with a friend that has a disability-not good. Difficult booking on line for a wheelchair seat phoned in the morning to confirm the seating and then had to redo it when we arrived as it wasn't done. Staff were good about it but frustrating on our part. Using the disability toilet was so difficult- poor location and disruptive for everyone that needed to use the bathroom

Went to visit with Elvis today. Sad to see only one person on duty. Coffee was less than average. Theatre very cold. Movie was great. No soap or toilet paper in the loo. Standards have slipped since last visit. No disrespect to person on duty. Can’t be expected to do everything.
Really nice movie venue, sea views, lots of comfy seating, snacks, ice creams, wine, beer and more. Handy restaurants and bars downstairs too.
Not a good experience. Theatre had not been cleaned prior to 6.10pm movie. Freezing cold in cinema 4, like being in an icebox. Midway through movie asked staff to turn on heating, said they couldn’t as they didn’t have control over building, offered me blankets I thought it strange, having blankets on hand other people must have complained so they purchased blankets thin, cheap ones, that had not been laundered. Manager not really interested in my complaint. Never going back there again!
Excellent service on a Wednesday night! Not many people and lots of choice as to what movie to watch.
So disappointing- Top Gun movie broke down about 40 minutes in - 1/2 an hour later still not restarted/fixed, no apology, no movie, no communication as to whether we should wait even longer, no one dishing out credits for an alternative session. Gave up and went home. Hope to find out tomorrow when we can see the whole movie in one go - hopefully tomorrow. All sorted now to see the whole movie tomorrow- thanks Berkeley staff. Looking forward to it!
