Health New Lynn is a modern general practice and seven day a week urgent care facility. It provides accessible, quality, evidence based health care.

Health New Lynn is located on level 1 of the Totara Health Building. It is next to the New Lynn train and bus stations and across the road from LynnMall.

When your at the doctors getting help for mental health but have to call meantal crsis team due to the doctors actions.that should say it all Very poor service been going here since they were at golf road for the last 30 years. One doctor put my partner into an episode by telling him the help for mental health is a long wait... didn't understand anxiety... didn't let Me know they were charging me for a phone appointment. No appointments available never weeks to wait... stop taking on new patients when you can service your old patients. The ladies at the front on desk don't treat you nice. When my panrer had a break down at the doctors I asked for a nappy they couldn't provide only looked at me in a bad way. Never stay with the same doctor always a new one.
Honestly, I think I'm about to leave this practice and go elsewhere. It's impossible to get an appointment with a decent dr unless you book 2-3 weeks in advance, but who can schedule being sick? I have seen Dr Paul John's a few times and have had the worst experiences everytime. In one appointment, I went to discuss my mental health big mistake at this place! And was told my depression is not severe enough to respond to the medication. No questions about my coping skills or suicidal thoughts were asked, I was simply invalidated and dismissed. I was later diagnosed with ADHD not by health new lynn which is why antidepressants weren't working..... This is also not the only bad experience I have had with this doctor. I refuse to been seen by him again. I have also had an atrocious experience with a different doctor there today. I have chronic headaches and wanted a medical opinion. My Dr was over 20 minutes late to my appointment, and rushed me out the door only 7 minutes after seeing me. I was given a medication to help with headaches. Upon further research, I discovered this is an antidepressant and conflicts with 2 of my other current medications. I called the reception to discuss this and was met with "so... what would you like me to do?" They did get a nurse to follow up with me which was nice, but even on the follow up they still seem confident these medications are fine together, though I am very skeptical due to the information regarding these combinations online. I am still very disappointed I was not given more information regarding the new medication, and was not even given the potential side effects or anything. An upsetting experience, especially for the price.
Doctor john is worst doctor ever didn't have patience was rude told me didn't have enough time after calling me in for checkup late. doesn't care about patient told me to book another appointment pay extra for other concerns.
I been waiting for 45 mins to 1 hour on the phone and after that no more agent available and if you book online the portal is useless too and I'm new patients here...I'm so disappointed can you please make your services in excellence
I have been waiting for around 45 mins call since 9am of December 6 2022, and when its my turn for the call, the reception have just dropped the call, and now I had to wait again. this is ridiculous, Do some background checking on who is in charge of the reception during this time, clearly UNPROFESSIONAL...
Horrible reception =Pathetic staff member's of health new lynn, not just once , every time I call they are rude on call yelling on you over the phone and this time I have recording to present ministry of health how low this receptionist treat there patients over the phone, I have no idea what they think of themselves to be so rude always . If you are hired as receptionist, u better be good at your job to answer the call, I wonder how they been hired to answer the call when they don’t know how to be nice or greet there patients over the phone or in person , such a rudest receptionist and nurses in health new lynn, I have experienced over the years . it’s a shame to see this people are chosen to serve public . Not once always same issue with health Newlynn, pathetic receptionist. Just spoke to Cynthia receptionist rude as always . Not even telling what emergency means when customer ask . Please managers and administrators work on your staffs specially receptionist they have no manners to answer the call and talk over the phone , before matter escalates to MOH
I have always had timely and positive experiences at Health New Lynn. My GP is based in this clinic but I have also utilised the nurses and other specialists in the clinic who are always so kind and professional. Like most medical centres, there is often a little delay between appointments but I haven’t found them to be too long. If you are looking for a GP, I would recommend Health New Lynn.

Left this practice after years of seeing 'doctors' who don't actually wish to investigate health concerns. Not to mention the fact you can never get an appt, then you go to use their urgent care clinic and then can't even get seen there and told to go see a doctor at White Cross, who has no idea of who I am, let alone any relevant medical records. Condescending, old dinosaurs that need to retire and receptionists without an ounce of knowledge of what customer service entails. Now I have a doctor who is investigating my concerns and I can get a same day appt, just how it should be.
I went to see another doctor as my usual doctor was unavailable. The doctor prescribed me medication that gave me bad side affects as that doctor didn't read through my notes. I didn't know that the medication he gave me was also prescribed under another medical name the doctor did not inform me of. I said I had a another problem that was private upon seeing the nurse. The doctor gave the nurse the wrong information that was rather embarrassing. There had been times of waiting for scripts to be sent to the chemist or scripts that had to be past from doctor to doctor to sign off. I've personally had mixed matched information from receptionist and another receptionist who had taken my calls. The wait times can vary and sometimes run behind. The practice is neat and clean though but I think it will be hard to access for people in mobility aids even though there is a lift to the second floor. Access to radiology is there too and no appointments necessary for COVID-19 Vaccine
