Story

Go-Kan-Ryu Karate (GKR) is a traditional Japanese style of karate. GKR was founded by Robert Sullivan in Adelaide, South Australia. Robert first began training in the art of karate in 1964, and spent time training and teaching in both Japan and the USA before establishing GKR in 1984.

GKR Karate is taught in a non-contact environment and promotes both character and physical development. GKR is a club for all ages and promotes self-defence, fitness, coordination, discipline, confidence and stress relief.

People of all walks of life can train together and learn the art of karate in a safe, fun and encouraging environment.

I was initially hesitant to send my son here but now it is one of the best decisions I made. Fantastic school with great teachers who truly care about the kids and their attitude towards school. They have a good variety of activities and field trips.

This school is a disgrace on NZ education system. They have many students and they pass every student and reward them if they aren't doing well. Its all about pleasing people and it doesn't really matter if the student is below the national standards or any level. Its all about the teachers and the school staff to retain their jobs.  Also they encourage students to call the police on their parents without even checking with the parents about what the child is saying.  I don't recommend anyone to enroll their child in this horrible school. They don't communicate with the parents well and its all about paying money  donation , then they will help, otherwise NO.  Deputy Principal Kylie Fullerton, is one of the worst people in the school. She needs to understand her job description more properly than doing anything else.

its an amazing shcool, my two girls love it and my other daughter is going there next year. the teachers are fanastic and they love and connect with all the studets The students have an exellenct learning enviroment and love doing all the other curriculum activitys like metal tech, wood tech, art and lots more they have many oppertunitys to get involved in like sports or music so if you want your child to have a great intermediate expereance I highly recomend wairau intermediate

i went to this school this review is a haiku the school is okay  the field has green grass lunch is forty minutes long the playground has bark  i liked music tech and wood tech was really fun didnt like cooking  the school starts at nine and it ends at three pm thats six hours long  so in conclusion going to this school was fun i kinda miss it

Just. Bad school. Don't care about anything but their own reputation. Like if you are one of the victims.
