Genta

Genta has always been my favorite sake bar to visit for the last few years. Staff changed quite a bit, menu is changed lately, but the food quality remains the same, or even better. Initially tried the place with former colleagues, soon to become very loyal. Only thing has to mention that the service quality had dropped a bit, as the staffs don’t seek to know their menu and intend to forget orders... so keep reminding them lol

Absolutely delicious, I definitely can guarantee this Beef Tataki is the best taste I have tried so far in whole Auckland. Ramen broth just so sweet and light, I drank it more than eating other parts . And $9 desert green tea ice cream is just so good and better than any other green tea ic from other stores.

Hadn't eaten here in a while but good to see that it's still going strong after all these years! My mate and I were quite hungry so we ordered quite a lot of food and struggled to finish it all. It was pretty delish and I'd go here again probably won't order as much though. I'd order the takoyaki and chicken karage again for sure though! FYI: this place permits BYO wine 1 bottle per head - corkage is $5.00 per bottle so I've been going here more because of this ;o

Friendly, helpful service, great atmosphere and a wide range of authentic, reasonably priced Japanese food. Since visiting Tokyo this has been the closest to my experience! Photos are of the Rainbow Roll, it was delicious.

Great variety of superbly tasty food. Very popular place. Good range of sake and other drinks to choose from.

As you walk in, you inmediately find yourself engrossed in japanese culture. A bustling atmosphere, which brings japan to you. Often quite full, a wait nothing longer than 5 minutes. Food variety is huge. One low point is the time you wait for food. Wish that more staff are available. Staff genuinely want to be there, Drink selection is huge, with sake and beer and wines. As food arrives, you inmediately want to dig in. Food is extremely authentic, portion size is huge. Food definitely worth it. High tech computer system ensures you pay correctly, and they check with you to ensure that order is correct. Sweets available at checkout. Great value. Definitely recommend.

I highly rate this japanese place. Staff are friendly and polite. The food was great and the price is very reasonable. I had the Bento box, seared tuna and 3 pieces of karage chicken for $3! All the food was fresh. I would definitely come back here again.

Great food and service. Loved the decorations and Japanese ambience. I like that it closes very late ! The sound they made with the drums scared me a little bit at times haha but overall great place. Would definitely come again to drink more sparkling sake.

Easily one of the best Japanese restaurants we dined at while in Auckland. The fish is fresh and the menu is extensive. Excellent quality fish. Fair pricing and good quality

25 people on one table, and they completely forget about the rest of the customers in the restaurant. I understand I don’t spend as much money as that group, but I feel like I should still be attended properly. No attention at all, people sitting next to us had to ask for the menu, or to be served. The food is amazing . They need a bit more of staff training or someone to coordinate the team! X
