Had our lunch there on the way from Wellington to Taupō. Thought was just a random cafe on the road and didn’t expect much. It turns out that the food is really nice, we tried a Moroccan pizza and the nacho. Both so yum. The mocha coffee is amazing too. And also the nice warm friendly staff. Will come back again.
Funky place with just the right amount of grunge to make you think back fondly to your uni days. Great pizza and tasty salad. Even the long black was really good. This place was an unexpected treasure
quite the different place to eat.nnIt's sort of shabby chic - hope that's the style they are going for - that makes for a comfortable eating experience.nnThe menu was mainly pizza, which was fine with me, and the three pizza's our group had were large, tasty and enjoyable. Slightly on the top end of expensive, especially when compared to chain restaurants, but the quality far exceed them, so worth it in the long run.nnThey have music on quite regularly so if you want a quiet meal then this might not be the place for you.nnAs a venue in Levin, this is a top place.
Firebirds is a real standout in Levin! Been around for about 3 years. What a time to start!nAt last somewhere with atmosphere, great music, and excellent pizza.nBut get this, the Council haven't yet approved an alcohol licence? To take 3 years, after all the covid dramas, you'd think business would get a leg up, esp one that stands out. All I can say is, get off your a$$ council and issue a licence. Please.
The bomb pizzas!nSo appreciate that they do keto bases, and they’re so delish that I polished off the entire pizza!nnMy non-keto friends also said their pizzas were the best they’ve had in yonks.nnStaff were friendly, atmosphere is super groovy - definitely recommend.nnThanks guys!
