I've heard great things about Beauty & Essex! People love the ambiance, the food is top-notch, and it's perfect for a special occasion like a birthday dinner. It's definitely worth considering for a memorable dining experience.
We had dinner here during a roadtrip, they can cater for walk-ins but preferably booking in to save a spot. plenty of options on the menu. Their staff were also very friendly and accommodating, and will check to make sure everything's fine. Overall we had a really good experience and we will definitely come back to eat when we're in the area.
We started off the night with some drinks and cauliflower bites. They were nice. A bit burnt but defiantly not terrible. Next we had ribs and steak the ribs were delicious and the steak was a bit fatty and tough. The traffic light was very nice and orange juice was nice too. Currently waiting for dessert but overall pretty good food wise. Service was could be worked on a little. We felt we had to make some kind of distraction to get the waitress/ manger to see us to get this attention. When they came they were super super nice.
It’s a pity the food was nice because the service was anything but.nnAn adult member of our group ordered a kids meal as they had previously had jaw surgery meaning they cannot eat large meals.nnThe staff said that would be fine but they would be charged an adult rate for it and the desert that usually comes with the meal would be charged as an adult seperately.nnAfter asking to see the manager - the some what rude and uninterested manager confirmed that wouldn’t be given any grace.nnI find it somewhat pathetic that you must charge double for a kids meal for the same product you would normally charge a child price for - just because an adult is eating it. There was no extra food. Just double the price.nnService is not on the minds of this restaurant which is evident given the lack of customers in on a Friday night.nnDon’t offer kids meals if your intent is to screw people out of the meal just because they want a smaller portion and no - it wasn’t available on the regular menu to order!nnThe manager needs a lesson in customer focus. Maybe that will bring back the customers. And a polite reminder to them - that raising your voice to the customer doesn’t make them want to come back.nnI’ll take my $451 order elsewhere next time.
