Story

Ferrymead Park features an early 1900s (Edwardian) township, with exhibits such as houses, picture theatre, school classroom, church, jail, railway station, lodge hall, post office, printers, tobacconist, general store, lawyer’s office and more.

There is also a large array of heritage museums and displays that are often open for viewing, particularly on Sundays. These museums are owned and operated by individual societies. Their own volunteer workers restore and display their collections, such as tractors, fire engines, aeroplanes, trams, trains, theatrical operations, mini rail, model trains, radios, photography and much more.

Great night market with a wonderful atmosphere. Big selection of food including vegan/vegetarian options. $2 entry and everything was priced very reasonably. Loved it and will return when I'm next in Chch at the right time.
A great place to visit and look around if you like the old planes and choppers.
This place was amazing,. Very informative and was truly great to see the NZ heritage. The fire house was truly amazing and you even get to dress your kiddies up like firefighters. My kids loved this. Definitely going back again
So cool, surprisingly big and lots too look at and learn!! Friendly, knowledgeable staff - big shout out to Martin for being awesome and entertaining and for not taking offence when I thought he was a mannequin and screamed when he moved. Definitely will be back next time we are in Christchurch
Lovely people down there filled with knowledge and passion, lots of stuff to look at, great place to take the kids. You can bring ya own food and have a picnic there so can easily spend a day their.
Lovely place to go for a walk. The ancient town inside of the city. Worth visiting, no doubt...
A fantastic experience for the family. The steam train was awesome and the different displays were very educational for the kids
