Eastern Beach

Eastern Beach is a great place to spend a few easy hours with the family. The beach is clean and well looked after, with a nice mix of grass, white sand and calm water. The sea was refreshing and mostly clear, though there was a bit of seaweed around. Plenty of benches and picnic tables, clean toilets close by, and easy boat ramp access. Perfect for a swim, a picnic, and letting the kids run around.

This place is a beautiful and serene spot, perfect for taking a leisurely walk and unwinding. The pathways are well-maintained and offer stunning views, making it an ideal destination to simply stroll and clear your mind. There are also some shops nearby, mostly food places, along with a cute dairy. It's a fantastic location for a peaceful afternoon. It's also very close to the Willow Park Christian Campground. However, if you're looking for a great swimming spot, this might not be the best choice. The water remains quite shallow even far from the shore, which isn't ideal for a proper swim.nnGetting here isn't that easy either. The 712 and 713 buses service the area, with one going to Panmure and one to Botany. They are every half hour most of the time, which is frequent enough if you plan ahead but definitely isn't a turn-up-and-go service

It is a good place for evening strolls. Last time I went, there weren't too many people making it a suitable to clear your mind. I have to say though, my sandal getting stuck in the wet sand was a little annoying so keep that in mind if you are to go there. I'd say it is fairly clean but there is definitely some litter. Air is pretty clear, there's also a nice playground with swings and stuff.

Eastern Beach is one of our favourite beaches in East Auckland.nnMy husband and I went there for a lovely walk on 8/12/2023. There were not many people at that time so we could enjoy the tranquility and peacefulness there.nnWe highly recommend you to go there and enjoy the stunning views.

It was so windy not even the gulls were on it. Tide was out so lots of hard sand to walk on. Great views to Waiheke Island. It's 1.5km from cliff point to cliff point so it's good for a workout. Restaurant about half way along for good food and drink. Another at the west end which is Nepalese but serves a range of great dishes.
