A lovely place for an early morning walk. Lots of native birds can be found. Car parking is available.

Love this walk. Even better when the tide is it and you can walk right to the end of the spit

A stunning spot for walking and other recreational activities. There were swimmers, wind surfers, kayakers and runners while we were there. The scenery is stunning but the tracks are run down and it's obvious council maintenance is lacking. It truly is a hidden gem with beautiful views and bush making for a great spot to enjoy albeit lunch, a walk or something more

Don't follow the Google maps directions to get here. The main entrance and carpark are at the bottom of West Tamaki Road. Tahuna Torea is an old favourite. A lovely peaceful place for a walk, only twenty minutes from downtown Auckland but feels like a world away. Fantastic bird watching.
