The food and service here are great one of my favorite places to eat in Wellington. Booking essential for weekends just to make sure u get in cause u may have to wait.Pics: lemon chicken, crispy squid sweet and sour pork.
Nice place for yum cha, make sure you book in advance. Great selection of food, however you feel a little rushed in eating. Time limit applies to yum cha seating. Busy and popular place worth a visit at least once.
One of my favorite Chines restaurants in Wellington. It has Yum Char menu for lunch and the choices of the menu that they offer are quite abundant. My favorites are the steamed dumplings prawns, scallops, mushroom, veggies etc, spicy chicken feet, beef ribs, veggie fried rice, deep fried squid, eggplants with prawn and fish, sautée veggies as well as the roasted duck. They also have more menu from the a la carte if the yum cha is not enough. Their desserts are also lovely! Don’t miss the egg tarts, custard tarts, sesame balls, jelly, mocchi ice cream and more. The place is quite spacious but during lunch it can be packed. The service is fast and good. The price starts from NZD 6 for small plates. It has high chairs as well as fit for those with disabilities. It might be a bit narrow for wheelchairs but with a little help, those with reduced mobility can get a seat here. They also have the toilet for the disable. Parking might be a bit problematic during the peak hours like lunch and dinner. Nevertheless, the place is easily reachable with public transport.
Great Cantonese food and staff friendly, we had Paua, steamed ginger chicken, stuffed grilled eggplant, mushroom and fish maw soup. Everything was excellent.
Usual Chinese Yum Cha place. Food was ok. I mean, the usual dim sum fare. Some were really good and some weren't that great. Worth a try if you like Yum Cha. It's really packed though so bookings recommended.Food: 3/5
Good food and service! Expensive food, the portion seems like has became smaller especially the pecking duck, plus no crackers. All our food were served all together, feels like there was a rush to get us out the door.
Great selection of YumCha dishes. 3 is a good number to dine with as little plates come in 3s These are the empty plates....Food: 4/5
An authentic yum cha/dim sum experience in the heart of Wellington! Huge variety of all the traditional favourites brought around on trays and carts and a few new ones to try, like durian mochi. Skip breakfast before you come. ; Photo taken before we really got started then got too busy gorging to document... Cheerful decor and popular spot so make a booking, but lost a star from me due to the strong smell of bleach.
Some of these reviews on google are hilarious, some people here really lack cultural and culinary literacy [what the heck are you doing hogging a table at yum cha for longer than an hour? You’re stopping other people getting seated!]. I’m a Hong-Konger from Australia, ate here with my missus for dinner on Boxing Day while on holidays. This is a perfectly good cantonese seafood restaurant . Steamed blue cod was nicely butterflied, flaky and fresh - the cheek meat was particularly good. Wok-air was good in the stir-fried dishes. The serving of complimentary broth for 2 people was quite generous much more generous than most places in Sydney. Quite good.
We got a table for 2 quickly without a booking on a Saturday and the service and food was great as always. It's my favourite Welly yum cha restaurant and have been coming here for years.Food: 5/5
