Life saver on King’s Birthday morning when most other cafes were closed. The beef+bacon sausage roll was lean and filing; as was the bacon+cheese scone. Get some extra tomato sauce for the scone! The coffee is very strong and came out a little too hot.
GREAT coffee Freshly baked cakes, scones, muffins and slices Update: the chocolate brownie is a m a z i n g The scones and muffins are always full of flavours. Helpful friendly staff Groovy decor and outdoor seating 33 years and still a top cafe in Wgtn!
A great Wellington cafe. I often drop in for a coffee when I’m down that end of town, and sometimes a bite. The coffee is good and there is a fine selection of cabinet food. Also a blackboard menu with kiwi classics like mince on toast. Check out the photos. Place has a good vibe, supported by local clientele. Sam and her crew are in the groove.
not too serious a vibe. everyone here is going with the flow. the dude with the cool shirt expertly toed the line between professionalism and chillaxedism. i noticed some especially relaxed sexy go with the flow type people outside - 5 stars
perfect cafe for when u are dusty and a man wants to get u a scone and a coffee the morning after. it gets slightly embarrassing when he doesn’t know who dua lipa is but he’s just not that serious of a guy. scone = 7/7 barista/workers/waiters = 7/7 Coffee = 7/7 location = 7/7 overall atmosphere = 7/7 Company = 6/7 could be better there was an obvious lack of pop culture knowledge and took himself a bit seriously
Always great coffee and service. The chili, cheese and savoury scones are world class.Food: 5/5
Cool place. Man size cups a definite plus. Dog friendly. Could do with cleaning the windows. Kid-friendliness: Very friendly staff. Wheelchair accessibility: Suitable for wheel chair or mobility scooter
On my first full day in Wellington from Canada, I had a fabulous cup of coffee with a delicious lunch. Staff were exceptionally accommodating, friendly, and hospitable. This is a great place to go before exploring the sites of Wellington!
Amazing cafe.Staff, coffee, food, brilliant. Highlight of my day when I walk thru the door.Food: 5/5
A quirky and cosy cafe, central to everything but not encroached on by the hustle and bustle of the centre of town. Reliably good though expensive coffee - Havana beans, though the food is the real star here. The menu changes daily and you will need to inspect the counter to see what is available. There's a good variety of sandwiches, muffins, cakes, samosas, cookies, salads, filos and other sweet or savoury items, made on premises to unique recipes. The gluten free/dairy free/vegan options are clearly labelled and the prices are quite reasonable. The space also doubles as an art exhibition area - the displayed works are for sale, providing visibility for local artists. Downsides: the inside space is tiny, so if it's busy you might have a hard time getting seated they do have takeaway and maximum at one table is 4 people. The queue can be long at busy times. There's no table service. The outside tables can be windy and noisy. Still, this is one of the cafes that shows the real Wellington and it's a treasure.
