Mama Brown

The service here is great, very friendly, quick and attentive. A little too quick on the clean-up however as a staff member was a bit enthusiastic with the ammonia based spray used on the table next to me and I got a bit of drift over my breakfast. I'd say the floors could do with a good clean too as there were a few flies about as well as a slight smell. The food was well cooked, bacon crispy and the waffles weren't too doughy or heavy. Chicken was nice with a light coating but a little dry. Coffee and apple juice were good too. Would have liked a less sweet offering as well that included more savoury elements, or perhaps the maple syrup on the side instead of already over the waffles.

If you are after comfort food - say burgers, wings , shakes, curly fries - then Mama Brown should be at the top of your list. This is my go to place for a cheat meal. Be sure to Walk-in hungry and you will walk out full and satisfied. Quirky ambience, friendly staff and Outstanding food. The spicy wings served here is definitely one of the best in NZ. Highly recommended this place.

Our food was cooked well and we had a good night. Friendly and helpful staff. I didnt feel as if this place was a restaurant because it had a mucky pub atmosphere and the seating was pretty crude Must be significance to the plane seats - hopefully not 9/11, bumping elbows isn't ideal whilst eating dinner. First time I've ever seen chicken with fruit tomato in my life. Very expensive place to eat. I'll be back to get a rib dish on a two for one though!

The best place for youngsters who wants to eat a lot of good yummy food. Its just near the cuba street. The portions are quite large for chicken wings, pork ribs and even milkshakes you get very large size. Also of you follow their instagram page you can get occasional coupons every month on offers like one plus one mostly on Wednesdays.

Had an amazing dessert. Couldn't be more stoked with the amazing staff and environment. Had an amazing waitress who was cleaning tables and she was great to have a friendly chat etc. Absolutely will be coming back!

Hands down the best pork ribs in Wellies! If your a big eater like me and my girls Mama Browns pork ribs are worth every cent! Flavour: 10/10, Portion: 15/10, Experience: 10/10! Super lovely staff also! Got told of the 'birthday specials and I didn't even realize Parking: We dined in for dinner, parked by Te Papa. Couldn't imagine where you would park during the day

Ordered a $26.90 burger whose name escapes me, and it was pretty miserable. I'm sure none of the ingredients were cooked to order - the chicken was dry and chewy, and the bacon was also tough and leathery. The chips were good, as were the shakes, though they're pretty pricey for what they are. We had planned dessert before we arrived but by that time we just wanted to escape. One star for the chips and shakes and one more coz they do online bookings.

The best place to come.. specially for the ribs.. cooked to perfection. Just one swipe of ur fork and it peels off the bone very easily. Yes ill be coming back again. U need bigger tables tho. Bit small some of the tables.. thanks Mama brown - staff for making good food.

The service was awesome and the food was delicious just sadly the drinks were slow as we wanted them with our food but recieved them almost an hour after ordering and eating, we understand it was busy so no biggie but other than that the experience was great and will come back again.

Always wanted to come here, enjoyed the atmosphere and the service. Had my work last meal together before parting ways for the Xmas season... food we all had our own thoughts of the outcome and we ate and walked away with full bellies.
