Curry King Indian Takeaway

I see some tough reviews for this place, but our local friend recommended and we had a great meal. No one in our group got the butter chicken, which sounds like according to other reviews may not be their strongest dish, but i couldnt say. We had a wide range of other dishes and they were delicious. Would recommend!

Bought butter chicken, very disappointing. It was a 'curry' coloured sugar syrup with very few chicken pieces. No flavor, nothing like a curry!! Waste of time and money. It's name Curry King doesn't suit their product.

I ordered chicken biryani it was good & taste perfectly like a Srilankan dish. And the portion was really good with 6 diced chicken pieces.

Go for biryani, samosas and other delicious curries. Order processing time is minimum.Food: 4/5

I can only go by my own experience & the food we were served on the night. The proprietor ? was welcoming, informative & helpful. We asked for mild and medium $9.90 butter chicken specials which included a Naan bread & can of coke each. Great bargain!! The meals were nice & hot and spot on with the flavors. So no complaints here. I would encourage everyone to look closer to home & support yr "locals" as opposed to the big-name fast food outlets. For these smaller businesses, our support is crucial.

This is one of my favorite takeaway places in Auckland for Indian food. I have ordered from them many times and the delivery is always on time. The food specifically is excellent. What most indian places in NZ don't understand is that adding sugar to the already hot food neither makes it mild nor makes it Indian. This place however always gives me great mild curries and not a single ounce of sugar in it. The food is delicious and I can taste all the spices without it burning my taste buds. This tell me that the curries are made to order and are fresh. I would gladly order from them any day. If you haven't tried them I suggest go try!!! You won't be be disappointed especially if you want real Indian food that is not hot no chilli powder and really flavorful.

Medium butter chicken was milder than mild, no spice at all. Tasted like cream added into tomato soup. Chicken 65 was good, naan bread was just flour bread. Very disappointed as I was recommended by indian who said this is good restaurant :- It is cheap, but they should charge more to make food better quality.

Hi, this an honest review bc I really think your butter chicken could be one of the best around If you could improve the sauce; something on the taste and spice level of pataks with cream and some sugar. At the moment it tastes like tomato soup which is sad bc the tenderness and juiciness of the chicken and soft deliciousness of the naan were better than most. If you improved the butter chicken sauce recipe ppl would drive across the city for it bc everything else; chicken and naan is excellent.

Chana masala was excellent, great flavour though agree with comments it could be more spicy. Staff were absolutely lovely and the price is very reasonable, what's not to like
