Criffel Station

We stayed here for Warbirds Over Wanaka. Arranged through the NZMCA. We parked with 500 other caravans and motor homes on the farm overlooking Wanaka Airport. It was a fabulous view and easy enough, once it was pointed out, to get down the 4x4 track to the airfield. We were able to view the planes and exhibits, and take in the airshow from ground level one day. Then we stayed up on the farm for a different view the next day.

Here for Warbirds and parked on the hill overlooking the airfield. The location is stunning and the vantage over the weekend will be great. Unfortunately some of the organisation and communication from Criffel Station management has been poorl. The parking signage for check-in was missing, causing unnecessary confusion. The track into the park up on the terrace needed some attention to make it passable. The shuttle service down to the airfield was totally inadequate no fault of the Wanaka Operator. It was down to very poor organisation, planning and communication. Its simple stuff to fix to make the whole thing a fantastic experience.

We had a great time staying at Criffel Gardners Cottage with our two year old. The cottage was warm and spacious and has everything you need. The view is great when waking up in the morning. Easy drive to Wanaka. Farm tour was lovely. Only suggestions are it would be great if the curtains in the bedrooms are black out curtains and blinds be added to the bathroom window.

My family thoroughly enjoyed their stay at Criffel and would happily stay again.nIt was quiet, lovely and clean, warm and welcoming even though the weather was cold.nWe will be recommending the place to others looking for somewhere special to stay. It's location makes it so user friendly for families as well as it is well away from the road and they can play safely and be close to animals as well.nthank you once again for your lovely hospitality.nJanice

We've just spent a week in the Gardener's Cottage and absolutely loved it. So well equipped and everything has been thought out.nnWe loved the fact that we were out of Wanaka and away from suburbia. Our 2 year old loved waking up to the bunny rabbits and deer around the place. Would recommend this place to anyone.
