This review is for the restaurant, which was outstanding. The menu has a lot of options, we ordered the fish & chips and ribs. The ribs were tender and flavoursome, and the fries had the perfect level of salt. The fish was crunchy on the outside and juicy. The food came extremely fast, and customer service was excellent, the waiters were so friendly and professional, will be coming back :
Had a meal here recently on a Saturday night. The scotch filled steak was extremely chewy and served barely warm and chips not hot either. Salad was mediocre. Wouldn't recommend
We dined and stayed here recently, and while the location — just minutes from Warkworth — is a definite plus, the accommodation itself could use a refresh. The rooms are spacious enough, but as some reviews have noted, the bathrooms in particular are starting to show their age.nnThat said, the dining experience was the real highlight. The restaurant has a cosy, almost alpine charm to it — a cross between a classic pub and a ski lodge, complete with timber beams and a roaring fireplace. It’s a warm, inviting space that immediately puts you at ease.nnThe food was very good. I had the lamb, which was beautifully cooked and pulled apart effortlessly. My partner chose the fish and chips — a generous portion, well-executed. While the lamb was the standout, the accompanying mash and creamed leeks could have used a touch more seasoning and a bit more finesse in presentation.nnOverall though, a thoroughly enjoyable meal in a lovely setting. We’d happily return.
It was a great place! Loved the food — everything was delicious. The desserts were amazing, and the drinks were equally impressive. Highly recommend this spot for a wonderful dining experience!
Arranged a family of 16 get together for lunch. Sat outside at a large table area, weather was good and we all enjoyed our meals bar one. This was our second time meeting here, very relaxed atmosphere. Will meet up again, all had a lovely time together
